Mumbai, Aug 18 (Ians) Actor Dulquer Salmaan says he has been a huge fan of Deepika Padukone and even had an ‘Om Shanti Om’ moment where his heart skipped a beat seeing the actress for the first time in Dubai.

During a chat session on Roposo, Dulquer had to either give a Gulaab (rose) or a Gun to a particular star in line with his upcoming release on Netflix ‘Guns & Gulaabs’.

Asked what he would give to Deepika, he revealed, “Gulaab, as she is like a Gulaab (rose) for me. I have been a huge fan of Deepika since ‘Om Shanti Om’ and I remember, back when I was working in Dubai, she was coming there for the premiere of ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ (2010).”

“I somehow managed to get tickets for the premiere and I was standing on the sides of the red carpet, where I saw her for the first time in-person.

From his directorial debut "Dil Chahta Hai" to his acting debut "Rock On!!", National award-winning filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar wears many hats. He has also made his mark as a singer-songwriter, a producer and a story writer. His latest release as an actor, "The Sky Is Pink", opens this week on Friday, and Farhan says he never planned to explore so many genres of entertainment. rather he believes in going with the flow.

"I do not strategise my career so I do not know where am I headed in the next five years. The only thing I hope for is people I make films and music for should keep showing interest in my efforts," Farhan told Ians.

New Delhi, Feb 27: "Karthik Calling Karthik" co-stars Deepika Padukone and Farhan Akhtar have come together to share the frame yet again. The duo features in a new advertisement for a soft drink brand, and they will be seen celebrating "the little joys of life".

Coca-Cola's new campaign - 'Chhoti ho ya badi, har khushi mein Coca-Cola', urges consumers to revel in the big and small joys of life.

This is the first time that Farhan and Deepika have worked together in a series of ads, directed by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

The campaign sees the two actors liven up the screen with their chemistry and engaging interactions.

Mumbai, Nov 30: "Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom," American musician Charlie Parker once said. But that holds no meaning when you compose for films, feels Indian American musician Karsh Kale, the man behind the music for films like "Pyaar Impossible", "Karthik Calling Karthik" and "Chutney Popcorn".

A musician or a band loses out on identity while composing music for movies, he says.

"I think any time you are making music for a film, you are not making your own music any more. You are making music, which a director or a producer is asking you to make. Even if you put your stamp on it, it is someone.

Deepika Padukone, has come a long way since her debut in Srk’s home production and super hit, Om Shanti Om, and has ventured into different roles (‘Sakhi/Suzy’ in Chandni Chowk To China, ‘Shonali’ in Karthik Calling Karthik and ‘Veronica’ in the recent Cocktail), and more recently, is due to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela opposite Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl star Ranveer Singh.

Deepika is set to play a Gujarati girl in which she’ll need to dance accordingly. According to one source close to the film sets, Bhansali asked Deepika to dance similarly to Aishwarya’s garba dancing (traditional Gujarati dance) .

A man who gets phone calls from himself telling him how to live his life—crazy, or is he? That's the mystery central to this psychological thriller—if you can call it that, because unlike the lead character, the film is unquestionably schizophrenic. As a thriller, it fails, because instead of taut, it's just stretched. The suspense is sapped by romance that dominates to such an extent that the film becomes mostly a love story—and a dull one.
