Featured review
Sherlock Holmes has been called upon to investigate a missing egyptologist who's somewhere in his own manor. When Sherlock arrives at the manor, he'll be spending a majority of his deductions of various rooms alone. While finding clues that will shed some light on what became of the egyptologist. As well as encountering what appears to be a mummy roaming around the manor.
The story: Average, but still works as a mystery even though Sherlock spends 3/4 of the game alone.
The graphics: Average, but since this is Frogwares' first computer game, I'll give them credit in making the manor look 19th Century like. Though it feels like you're walking around in a matte paint.
The controls: Old fashion is all I could say. This game would of been excellent if you can freely walk around instead of being limited to only proceeding certain areas by a click of the mouse.
Sound: Not crystal clear, but you do at least hear what the characters are saying. I don't think they had the best equipment when recording the voice actors lines cause most of it sounds scratchy. At least they still sounded British which is a good thing.
The good: Sherlock & Watson are true to their characteristics.
The bad: This game could cause people to feel frustrated without online help.
Overall: Good effort for a game software company that was just starting out with this game. I would of given this game a 8 out of 10 if they fixed the problems I mentioned. Otherwise the good thing is they got better with the later Sherlock games which is good cause they'd wouldn't have so many Sherlock games already if they continue with the same pattern as this game.
