As of March 2022, the horror comedy's plot still hadn't been revealed and a trailer hadn't been released, though based on the cast and preview images, fans suspected the film would focus more on busts than Bigfoot. But when the film came out, it featured no nudity, which is rare for a Wynorski movie.

According to director Jim Wynorski, actress Rochelle Swanson was supposed to be in the cast, ending her retirement from acting. Unfortunately, she had to drop out.
On Oct. 25, 2020, Christine Nguyen teased the movie on Twitter by posting a short video of her with a machete and the message, "Look for me as Tilly in Jim Wynorski's upcoming feature BIGFOOT OR BUST. Be afraid, be very afraid..."
On December 1, 2020, Rocky DeMarco posted an image on her Facebook account of her lying on the ground in a tight top with massive cleavage teasing the movie.
