Northern Ireland window-cleaner John, aged 35, devoted his life to raising his cute, doting son Michael, since the mother left them after giving birth, four years ago. Now he's diagnosed with terminal cancer, John spends his last months not just caring for Michael as devotedly and leaving him nice memories, but also checking up on candidates -acceptable to the social service- to take over raising still clueless Michael after John's death. He can only spend a short time at each home, and wrestles with the responsibility of making such a momentous choice based on a few impressions of who matches his paternal love, but his time runs out.
