My interest in the work, however variable in quality, of filmmaker Bree Mills is strong, and my persistence was rewarded in this excellent new series focusing on the enduring beauty (and sexuality) of elder Adult Cinema actresses. The second volume recently released is even better.
No surprise that Nina Hartley is featured in both initial releases, as she is clearly the most enduring and talented actresses in the genre. She visits as new neighbor to the happily married young couple Casey Calvert and Justin Hunt, with Hunt kindly escorting her home after dinner. The speed and skill with which Nina seduces Hunt is impressive, as is her talents in bed, leaving poor Casey in the dark.
With classical music on the soundtrack and a serious but believable (for over the top see: Bree's many series like "Pure Taboo") tone throughout, this is a fine set of vignettes aimed at the Couples Romance audience, of which I'm a card-carrying member.
Darla Crane, at age 53 some 7 years younger than Hartley, is terrific as a loyal employee of 32 years working at a company, in a vignette appropriately titled "Company Loyalty". Working on a Saturday, she's called into the office of the boss, who succeeded the founder in running the firm, and is afraid he might be letting her go. Instead, young Seth Gamble presents her with an amulet necklace in appreciation of her long service, and then services her sexually.
It's a simple scene but performed with gusto by Darla, who like Nina, looks her age but is stunningly beautiful without any botox/facelifts (though of course Hartley's boobs were famously enhanced long ago mid-career).
Even more endearing is the rubber-faced Syren De Mer in her touching scene. She is a regular at newcomer performer Michael Swayze's cafe, and one day they are both there, each waiting to meet a blind date they've arranged over the months via internet hookup/texting.
Of course, they turn out to be each other's blind date, but Syren scoots out of the cafe when she discovers that surprise. All is forgiven at next meeting, but even though Syren is disturbed by their difference in ages, a smooch from Swayze bowls her over, and the sex is history.
