Paramount Studios V.P. Paul Haggar was so impressed with Foley's vision for the film, he called Kodak to get the production the 35mm rolls the shoot needed. (However, when Foley needed one more for extended shooting, Haggar made him pay out of his own pocket.)
Emmy-winning producer Harve Bennett voiced the computer on Sloane's ship. This happened quite by accident.
When Foley was trying to decide on a voice actor for the computer, FX supervisor Bill Hawk flippantly joked, "Why not ask Harve to do it? It's not like he doesn't have the experience." A reference to his role as the Visual Flight Recorder in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984). Foley asked and his mentor said yes.
