The stand-out actor in "Start Up" and "Hometown Cha Cha Cha" brings his velvety voice, wry sense of humor and physical comedy chops to the role of a put-upon Captain of a low-status division in the Police Dept, Subway police. He is a go-by-the-book cop, discouraged by financial hardships and living paycheck to paycheck. He does not want to rock the boat.
Enter a feisty trainee cop determined to join the squad in order to investigate the disappearance of her own twin sister, who she believes was the Subway Ghost's first victim. This 'ghost' serial killer attacks his victims in the subway system and is able to dispose of their bodies without detection through byzantine subway tunnels.
She cuts corners, flouts regulations and ignores consequences to make progress and find clues.
The serial killer plot and the feisty female sneaking off to roam dark, empty places on her own, stalked by a killer in the shadows isn't new but the subway setting is to me. I'm enjoying it.
The chemistry works but isn't the best. However, I would watch Kim Soon-ho clean his finger nails so a fairly entertaining cop kdrama suits me just fine.
