Felt like the pilot!
While season 3 felt like it was up and down at times, season 4 starts off with one of the best episodes in the whole series. Seriously had pilot episode vibes with the different storylines. Can't wait to see what the season has in store for us!

Looks like this show is stepping up its game
Certainly unlike any other episode of this series (besides the pilot perhaps), introducing new characters and intertwining them with the main characters perfectly like this show always does with the past, present and future. Great writing and an intriguing look at what is to come for this show. I thought season 3 was a bit on the weaker side, especially compared to the first two seasons. Looks like this season will definitely be something special and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Just when you think This Is Us can't get any better...
I am FLOORED by the brilliance of This Is Us. While much of the episode was built around new characters, This Is Us of course found a way to bring it all home. If you haven't seen the episode yet, stop whatever you're doing and watch! You'll be thankful you did.

A hopeful heart returns!
Can ugly crying be considered a review?
With everything that's going on in the world, it seems to me we have a futile future. This show, however, has lighted a spark in me! A spark to believe in hope and proving we all have a larger part in life that we believe ever possible!

Tears...
Was putting off watching this season for a while now but I am glad I started again. Seriously, this episode might be the best season premiere yet for this show.
The new characters and the old ones are all amazing. But Jack Pearson is the Man, My God he makes me cry. Tears...literally.
But, I guess this is life, this is love, this is Us...all of Us.
Excellent. Pulls you right back in. So much more to tell and be moved by.
The break between last season's finale and this season's opener has been put to good use by the writers. If you were wondering where they could take the multiple timelines, fear not. This is top-class TV, ripping the rug from under your feet and catching you with a reassuring wink. You've seen enough of this show to expect warmth, embarrassment, humour, confrontation, fear, danger and love. We're back on the windy track.
Wow!!! "This is One for Us"
What a great episode and beginning of a 4th season! It will keep us involved in a heartfelt family matter. The back and forth and in between scenes are done uniquely GOOD! We will have more of the story that has involved since season one. NBC has done it again! "This is Us" is one of a kind tv show! Love it!
Wow!
I have to admit, I was confused for most of the episode. But, I had faith and hung in. I'm so so glad I did. This Is Us did no disappoint. The last 10-15 minutes tied up all the new characters to the Pearson crew. Can't wait to see where they take this.
My only negative comment was also made in another review. It was made to seem like Jack and Miguel met when Jack went to buy the jacket. However, it was already established they were already friends the first time Jack saw Rebecca and told him he just met, "the girl".

The BEST episode of This Is US! For so many reasons....
This Is Us constantly, and ALWAYS finds the most amazing heart-felt way to present each episode. STRANGERS episode was by far the MOST exciting, the MOST HEART-FELT and pulling so much together as we gather more inside to each of the characters.
BLAKE STADNIK from Beaver County was SO PHENOMENAL! His voice, his acting, his persona, along with the amazing story line with Lucy, and interweaving baby Jack, a MASTERPIECE, such a work of ART! This is the 2nd time I've watched this episode, and I feel so much inside with every piece. Blake may YOUR JOURNEY take you everywhere life has to offer to You! What an episode!

We ran out of ideas so let's introduce a bunch of random characters
The story of this this episode was conceived:
-Sir we are completely out of ideas, we've already used every cheap cliché in the book. What do we do?
-Let's add a bunch of random characters out of blue that have nothing to do with the main story with no transitions, no explanations, nothing. This will allow us to push the narrative for another 3 seasons without adding anything original.
-But sir, people will hate it. We've already used too many cheap tactics.
-Never underestimate how stupid people are. You can feed them absolute garbage for years and they will still in love with the garbage you present them because packaging is nice and shiny. People will eat this up like cake. I bet we'll get a bunch of 10/10 reviews. Believe me.

Solid episode but shouldn't have been the series opener
Before fans of the show get mad at me for giving an average rating to an episode with a very high rating, hear me out. This episode is fine, the new characters are OK and slightly interesting but I am a little baffled as to why the producers and writers decided to take this approach to open their 4th series. A series opener has to continue on from where it left off, not completely segway to a bunch of brand new characters who frankly I don't really give much of a toss about (yet). They should have dealt with the fallout from the 3rd season's finale rather than experiment with what seems to be repetition of the pilot. I just wasn't too invested in the characters and was waiting patiently to see Kevin, Kate and Randall again. It's not a bad episode, but a badly placed episode, it should have been an episode in the middle of the season.

Disappointing but I'll hang in there.
WTF?! Why so many new characters? I still love this show, but I think it was a mistake to begin the new season with so many new and unfamiliar characters who don't seem connected.

Turned out to be really good
I found myself getting annoyed part of the way through this one, as it felt like there were a bunch of new characters being introduced, with no connection to the Pearson storylines. I should have known the writers would find a way to tie them all together. Well done.
To address a couple of earlier reviews -- Jack does not borrow money from Miguel the night he meets Rebecca and takes her to the fair. It's his friend Darryl, whom he was going to rob the bar with and who I don't think we've seen since, though I wouldn't be surprised if he turns up again somewhere.

Kintsugi...
Kintsugi accomplished by and through golden "strangers'.
Omg!!!
This is ussssss
Amazing
I love this showwww
It gives me strong like this episode
Typical season opener
Like most season premiers there are a lot of unanswered questions that will be addressed throughout the season. A lot of introductions to new characters that will tie in to the big three. First episode is always a little slow; this one follows that trend. Not a bad episode just not a lot explained. Looking forward to seeing how they play these new storylines out.
I love it

I kind of lost hope on this one, but it came as a good comeBack!
A lot of new characters and I am not sure how many more generations of Pearson's family are we gonna be potrayed considering its renewed for 2 more seasons. While season 3 was becoming more dull every episode of which was just repeating itself in the name of emotions and Expecting just the same in season4 , may be the character refresh has bought a new life to the dull never changing faces in the last three seasons. Looking forward for more. Please do not screw up this one too
Threw Me for a Bit
Yes, there were a couple new characters. But they are related to the ones we know. There had to be something fresh when six seasons are going to run. We get to see Jack meet the parents and they are a piece of work. Rebecca's father throws down the gauntlet. He betrays his daughter's trust right away by getting into the Vietnam stuff, himself uninitiated. I remember people saying it wasn't a real war, a police state. That is ridiculous. If anything, it was one of the most painful encounters ever. I know. I was there. The insensitivity of the parents was disheartening. The most intriguing of the stories is the Marine woman who is full of anger and depression.
One Of the best!
Among many other best episodes, I loved this one the most for the way the screenplay was written, making us to guess who is who and how they are connected.
I love this series so much, but when I saw this particular episode I badly want to come here and drop my review. Loved it would be an understatement. Especially the way it ended with such a beautiful song.
I kind an able to guess a few, but not all of them. And the way the episode took from one place to another without confusing the audience, rather kept engaging is quite impressive. I must say, the cast chosen for the entire series is spot on.
