Late last year, we brought you the first trailer for "Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods," the upcoming feature-length documentary about one of the comics industry's most popular (and fascinating) creative minds.

Today we bring you the exclusive news that the biopic has not only been picked up by indie distributor Halo-8 Entertainment, but it will also make its debut at New York Comic Con later this year (instead of Comic-Con International in San Diego), followed by a limited theatrical run. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks is in negotiations with writer-producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci ("Star Trek" reboot, "Transformers") to adapt a live action feature of James Farr's "Xombie", the sci-fi/horror adventure produced by Epic Level Entertainment that began as an online flash-animated series and expanded into a comic book as well as an "illustrated-film" currently in pre-production by Halo-8 Entertainment. The original flash series "Xombie: Dead On Arrival" is currently available on DVD from Halo-8 (Ada). So, what so you Xombie fans think out there?...

Halo-8 Entertainment is kicking copious amounts of ass when it comes to the innovative animation technique known as "illustrated filmmaking", and upon completion of their recently announced upcoming Loaded Bible project, they will next be producing the horror/sci-fi adventure Xombie: Reanimated created by James Farr.

If the name Xombie sounds familiar, it's because this project marks the second collaboration between Halo-8 and Farr after Xombie: Dead on Arrival (DVD reviewed here) was released by the studio in March. Award-winning director Matt Pizzolo and Emmy-winning producer Brian Giberson have scheduled the new film for production in early 2010 with a theatrical release planned for later in the year.

Xombie is the story of Dirge, a dead man with a mind of his own, who struggles against his posthumous cravings (not to mention legions of the living dead). In Dead on Arrival (comic reviewed here), Dirge struggles to reunite a lost child named Zoe with her family.

Halo-8 and Epic Level Entertainment announced the release of a new trailer for their DVD of Xombie: Dead On Arrival—The Complete Flash Series. You can watch it at the bottom of this item.

The DVD (out March 31) compiles the popular animated on-line series created, written and directed by James Farr. It follows Dirge, a zombie with a mind of his own, as he struggles not to give in to his hunger and attempts to reunite a lost girl with her family. So far, the Xombie brand has expanded into both an illustrated novel published by Farr and a comics series from Devil’s Due. Currently, Epic Level is working to develop the title into a live-action feature.
