The FOX censors at the time didn't want Princess Kashmir to be a straight-up bachelor party stripper, as the show was courting controversy for being subversive (and, due to Bart being a protagonist, a lot of people thought it was a kids' show), so they made Princess Kashmir a professional belly dancer who performs at bachelor parties (though she does tell Bart that she works at strip clubs under the name "April Flowers.")
In this episode, Lenny's voice is provided by Hank Azaria and Carl's voice is provided by Harry Shearer. For the rest of the series it would be the other way around.
The staff went around Hollywood taking pictures of strip clubs so that they could get inspiration for the interior design of the strip club buildings in Springfield.
The entire scene in the photo lab is animated in real color, but has a red gel pasted over the scene to give it the photo-lab effect.
