Another one of the Canadian productions that just don't seem to get enough press or recognition.
Featuring gorgeous coastal scenery and a character-driven story, this set-in BC film has a investigative storyline that develops around skeletons in the closet of a small coastal community. The actors (some of whom will be familiar to TV viewers) really bring the characters of the community to life in a realistic, not-over-the-top way. The storyline is not quite linear in time, but viewers will find it very easy to follow. The non-linear presentation also enables a conclusion that is not as predictable as it may first seem.
Fans of North of 60, and Beachcombers are shoe-in viewers for this film, and all other are highly encouraged to give it a go.

I wish I had something nice to say about this feature, but it wouldn't be fair to lie. Editing is extremely long and drawn out, while the characters and weak dialog are completely see through. The scenery is boring, and this movie could use some serious colour (that's how Canadians spell it) correcting to make it less bland. The music is down right dreadful, and embarrassing. Story and plot are painful at best. I don't fault the actors as a few are okay, but many feel like they are being forced to act. No special direction, and this feels more like a bad CBC pilot that never got picked up than it does a movie. Cliché from start to finish...but never pulled my pulse up over 54 BPM. If your cable goes out, and only one channel works and this is playing, sit in the dark. If you and five dollars are in a fight, spend the five dollars on this rental just to get even.
