When Gato (Jose De Vega) calls cafe owner Cates (James Anderson) to inform him about the disagreement with Al (Kreg Martin) and Al's subsequent murder, Cates ordered him to get rid of the body and "then get that girl". But there was no conversation about the girl Loren (Katherine Crawford), so how would he have known she figured in the incident at the garage.
When Loren comes out of the church, she recognizes her parents driving away in their station wagon. The vehicle is only a few feet away and moving fairly slowly, but the girl makes only a weak effort to get their attention. A normal person in her position would have run, screamed, and done anything else necessary to make that vehicle stop.
In Mexico, Loren's parents try to ask a priest if he has seen their girl. The priest has actually just seen her in church, but the parents can't communicate with him due to the language barrier. Shortly thereafter, though, the parents pull out a picture of Loren and show it to someone else.
