This movie is the end result of a national search for America's next male and female action stars as part of NBC's Next Action Star (2004) reality TV show produced by Joel Silver. The two winners star opposite Billy Zane.
The city of Cleveland allowed production crews to shut down Euclid Ave. between East 9th and East 14th streets from midnight to 4 or 5am, a location known as the Theater District, where Playhouse Square, the second-largest theater complex in the United States, is housed.
