The cast and crew stayed together at one hotel in Columbia, Missouri. They would shoot all day, then bring the instruments back to the hotel club, and play music together at night.
Niki J. Crawford (Shanita) on vocals, and 'Lawrence Lowe' (Lonnie) on drums, played all the musical parts themselves.

The truck driven by Wesley as he pulls into the parking spot of the bar stopped running in between takes. Crew had to push the truck down the street to give it enough speed to roll into the parking spot. If you look closley you can see Wesley straining to turn the steering wheel as the power steering was not working due to the engine mot running.
While filming on the Missouri River, cell phone service was lacking. William Lee Scott had to turn to the local Police Chief. He borrowed his phone to check on his wife who was expecting a child.
