I came across this series when they aired Fuji TV in New York a few years ago. This was one of the best Japanese dramas I got to watch and the characters are wonderful. If this is available on video, I highly recommend you see it (subtitled version).

101st Marriage Proposal

The synopsis stated the story as a Beauty/Beast in Japan. I started this 12 episode series, and found episodes 1-7 were very good. Then as is the law somewhere a twist had to be added and they made her a psycho crazy woman who only &quot;figures it out&quot; by ep 11. :( So her melt down reduced any enjoyment down to a 3...but the other cast and side stories raised my final grade to a 6.
