Hoskins to star in 'Englishman's Boy'
TORONTO -- Bob Hoskins will star opposite Canadian actor Nicholas Campbell in The Englishman's Boy, a Canadian telefilm from director John Smith (Revenge of the Land), producer Minds Eye Entertainment said Tuesday. Hoskins will play an ambitious movie producer in 1920s Hollywood who asks a young Canadian writer, played by Michael Therriault, to track down an elusive Western actor (Campbell) whose story will provide the storyline for a new film. The Englishman's Boy was adapted by novelist Guy Vanderhaeghe to become a two-part, four-hour miniseries for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.
