First Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden will be introducing National Geographic’s latest series “America’s National Parks,” set to premiere Aug. 29. Narrated by Garth Brooks, the five-part docuseries celebrates the world-famous and lesser-known national parks across the U.S., from Yosemite to Big Bend National Park.
The series will first be introduced by Dr. Biden from the Grand Canyon. “America’s national parks are full of unrivaled natural beauty, geological wonders, cultural history and amazing wildlife,” Dr. Biden said as part of her introduction to the series. “Each national park connects people to a piece of the American story — who we are and where we came from. With at least one national park in every state, all Americans can enjoy them.”
In participation with the White House’s Joining Forces Initiative, National Geographic will also premiere a PSA throughout the five-night event showcasing Dr. Biden’s appreciation for the military community.

Andrew Dymburt and Kenneth Moton are getting new roles at ABC News, with Dymburt being named co-anchor of the overnight broadcasts World News Now and America This Morning, and Moton returning to the D.C. bureau.
Dymburt joined ABC News last year as a multi-platform reporter based in Washington, and since then has covered the pandemic, the Capitol riot, the 2020 presidential election and Joe Biden’s administration. He previously covered breaking news and politics at Wsvn-tv in South Florida.
Moton started at ABC News in 2015 as a multi-platform reporter in D.C., and covered politics including the 2016 election. Titled “The Counsel,” the series follows four thirtysomething women of color who are leaders in their respective fields of journalism, law, politics and public relations. They must rely on their lifelong friendship to overcome a scandal that threatens to unravel everything they’ve achieved.
The project has received a script order with a penalty attached. Erica Shelton will write and executive produce, with Hostin also executive producing. Ridley Scott, David W. Kendis Gibson has joined MSNBC as a weekend anchor beginning later this month. The NBCUniversal-owned cable news network has confirmed Gibson will anchor MSNBC Live weekends from 2-4 Pm Et beginning Saturday, January 19. It was one way when Paula [Faris] and Rob [Nelson] were there, and they had built in a certain amount of time to do certain things ... for chatting or [such segments as] "The Mix" or "The Skinny."
All of that changed when John [Muller] and I came in, because we have our own individual styles -- and not only that, but we've created a style together. Everybody has to get on board with what's going on, and it took a little while to find our groove. And when we did, it just became second nature.

Morse named 'Good Morning' exec. vp
Emmy-winning news producer Andrew Morse has been named executive producer of the weekend edition of ABC News' Good Morning America, overseeing the day-to-day content and operations of the news program.
Morse has been with ABC News since 1996, most recently serving as the senior producer for the Saturday and Sunday editions of World News. His other positions have included serving as the senior producer overseeing the daily "GMA" news blocks that air throughout the morning broadcast and as the senior producer of the overnight news broadcasts World News Now and World News This Morning.

Hernandez, Owens to 'World News'
NEW YORK -- ABC News said Thursday that Taina Hernandez and Ryan Owens have been named co-anchors of World News Now and America This Morning.
The two will anchor the 2 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. World News Now, which is broadcast live and then followed by America This Morning on ABC affiliates. Owens will also work for Good Morning America and Hernandez, who already does work for "GMA" and weekend World News will continue.
Hernandez had been a Los Angeles-based and New York-based correspondent for ABC News, having moved to the network in December 2001 from ABC News' NewsOne service. She also has worked for WABC-TV and NY1 News.
Owens joined ABC News last August as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now, the digital news channel. He has also worked as a reporter at WHDH-TV in Boston, where he covered the Persian Gulf War and also the 2002 Winter Olympics among other stories, and WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio, among other stations.

Mason earns sr. vp stripes at ABC News
Paul Mason has been promoted to senior vp at ABC News, where his responsibilities will include day-to-day oversight of Nightline, This Week, World News Now and the ABC News Radio network. Mason also will oversee ABC News' coverage of the upcoming Democratic and Republican presidential nominating conventions and the general election. His appointment was announced Monday by ABC News president David Westin, to whom he will report. Mason assumes duties previously handled by Rick Kaplan, who left ABC News in February to join cable news network MSNBC as president.

Kerley joins ABC News in D.C.
David Kerley, an anchor and reporter for WBBM-TV in Chicago, has joined ABC News' Washington D.C. bureau as a correspondent, the network said. He will serve as an overnight anchor and reporter for World News Now, World News This Morning, and ABC News Live, the network's affiliate feed. Prior to joining CBS' owned-station in Chicago, Kerley worked in Seattle; Boise, Idaho; and Santa Maria, Calif. He was won two Emmy Awards.

ABC News taps Muir to anchor overnights
ABC News has named Boston anchor/reporter David Muir as its new face on World News Now, and World News This Morning, which air from 2-5 a.m. and 5-6 a.m. ET, respectively. He replaces Derek McGinty who left for an anchor job at WUSA-TV in Washington D.C. Muir, who worked at ABC affiliate WCVB, will also do some reporting, according to a network spokeswoman. Muir spent one month covering the war in Iraq this year, and won honors as part of a team that traced the paths of the terrorists who flew out of Boston's Logan Airport on 9/11. He spent three years in Boston after working for five years at WVTH-TV, a CBS outlet in Syracuse, N.Y.
