Gladiators 2000 is another in a long line of game shows and competitions having versions where kids can play. Based on the legendary American Gladiators show,
Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and a female co-host that changed in the two seasons the show aired, Gladiators 2000 was mostly American Gladiators with some rule changes so kids can play. While American Gladiators had contenders facing the Gladiators, in Gladiators 2000, the Gladiators are in the role of coaches and teachers, as each episode has the two teams coached by two of the Gladiators that are currently on the show.
As for the teacher part? Well, that is because Gladiators 2000 is also educational as well as entertaining. In order to comply with the Children's Television Act, which requires a certain amount of E/I content in cartoons and show for kids, G2 adds educational content pertaining to health and fitness, as there are cartoons and even some short films where fictional characters or even the Gladiators teach kids lessons about health and nutrition (like one segment where the gladiator Hawk teaches about fast food, and sees fried fish and chicken as something to say uh oh to, adding some cheesiness). Also, some of the Gladiator games adapted also have an educational element added to their G2 version, as well as bonus questions that are about the topics. A show that is entertaining as well as educational, Gladiators 2000 has to be seen to believed.
