Featured review
Perhaps the final hardcore porn video of Joe Sarno's career, this riff on the famous Spike Lee title is actually closer in content to Spike's earlier SCHOOL DAZE. It is not recommended.
Main culprit for the video's lousiness is writer Scott Baker, who doubles in a non-sex role as Dean Hardwicke. We don't get a feel for this NYC college, thanks to the poverty budget, as film dwells on the hazing and sex antics of a sorority headed by Julianne James. Heather Hunter is promoted in the DVD packaging as the star, but she's second banana to James, in charge of meting out punishment, but fails to do so (though she's introduced wielding a huge paddle).
Cast features mainly black performers, numbering (besides Hunter) the two black pledges under Heather's care as well as Peter Lawrence. Sex is routine, with plenty of lesbianism. But one has to suffer through atrociously unfunny dialog courtesy of Baker.
Apart from a couple scenes of James walking down the familiar cobblestone streets of Manhattan's Meatpacking District, film is videotaped on very fake and claustrophobic studio interiors, with a bed used over & over backed by a Keith Haring poster opposing South African apartheid.
I'm not sure how African-American audiences will react to this junk, but in any event the black superstar Hunter is ill-used, not given much screen time to do her XXX thing. In Sarno's career this one is at least better than the atrocious Hunter vehicle "Coming on America", but not as funny as her "Hung Jury" outing.
