The score deliberately mimics that of Halloween (I know because my cousin Brent Holland wrote it) and the camera work does as well as Tracy walks to and from home
Maurice Devereux admitted as much in interviews - seen in swings swining by themselves/Olam's book resenbles the Necronomicon/Book of the Dead of Evil Dead, there is a page on the PA system for a "Mr. Raimi", camera movements through graveyard resemble POV shots from ED, Olam's voice sounds like that of the Deadites etc.
