Two guys work on a fairground. They clean the floor. One of them is looking for a woman who loves him. But no one does. Or so he thinks. His neighbour likes him, but is to shy to admit. His work buddy watches his demand for a beautiful woman without great surprise. One day, the helplessly in love fairground worker spots the perfect woman, a rich, beautiful, young girl who wanders around the park amusing herself. He goes home and, by the means of a magic book, works on a love potion for her to be in love with him, even though having killed his neigbours' cat in order to cook the recipe. He applies the potion in a series of gun darts and off he goes But he can't catch the girl and misses his target several times. Finally, when he can get a clear shot of her, his neighbour gets in front of him and decides to get revenge. Convinced that it's a real gun, she takes his gun and shoots him. The dart lies on the floor but the effect is on and he is suddenly a victim of his own spell. They are in love. And they depart happily ever after. But the story is not over.... It doesn't have bad endings or others. It's the ultimate wish fulfilment short story. And the scenario of the fairground is just right, with all its lights and sounds. Fernando Fragata made his first cinematograpic short film which was even shown in prime time in Portugal's biggest audience TV. And I think it deserved it. It's a funny little movie, designed to amuse and to make people happy. And I like its lightweight appearance. See it if you can.
