This story is terrific for a TV movie and should have been made into a feature length film. Peter Berg is just excellent as the fallen football hero who is given a second chance at life and, with the help of the almighty God, walks just 3 months after breaking his neck.
I wish this movie was on video. It should be in everyone's video library!

I saw this movie in when we watched it in Bible class at school. I really liked it. I thought it was going to be some documentary where they have little one on one interviews and bull like that. But when I saw it was an actual movie, it grew on me. Pete Berg was very good in this movie.
I really liked the one really nice guy in rehab who had the wheelchair. I didn't like the mean guy in the wheelchair though.
7 out of 10. ps: joanne is the bomb

Thise movie is an insult to anyone living with a spinal cord injury. To say that Dennis Byrd is walking because of God is a joke. Dennis Byrd had an INCOMPLETE spinal cord injury, meaning that his spinal cord was NOT completely damaged. Saying that he walked again because of his faith in God is a joke. This movie is a piece of religious propaganda and has no redeeming qualities.
Almost anyone with an incomplete spinal cord injury will have a partial to complete recovery. Dennis Byrd did not even have a complete recovery. Guess he didn't have quite enough faith, did he? He has said that he still has paralysis and chronic pain in his hands and arms.

I have the book and have seen bits and pieces of it but I want to watch it all. Awhile back I looked him up online and to my chagrin, found out he was in an accident and had died. My father had died in May of the same year and I had health issues going on myself. I completely missed the sad news. I felt close to him as his birthday was Oct 5th and mine is Oct 20th. I just re-read the book and I long to talk with his family and see how they are coping with their loss, even to this day and give them my condolences. 😞. Rest In Peace, Dennis, and may the Good Lord keep your family close to Him. 🙏🏈
