The film was initially titled "Badi Bahu".
The famous heart throbbing song "Dhak Dhak Karne Laga" is sampled from the telugu song "Abbani Teyyani Debba" composed by Illaiyaraaja, from the movie "Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari"(1990) featuring Sridevi and Chiranjeevi. It was later dubbed in Hindi as "Aadmi Aur Apsara" and the song was titled "Tumne Is Tarah Mara".
The film was launched before "Dil" but delayed for financial reasons. After "Dil" became a Blockbuster, "Beta" was resumed.
Madhuri Dixit shouted at Anil Kapoor for doing the giant wheel stunt himself and she felt his face was also not visible in the scene. It was the first time Anil Kapoor had seen Madhuri Dixit so angry.
Anil Kapoor played a cameo in Laxmikanth Berde's hit Marathi film Hamaal De Dhamaal 1989.This film Laxmikanth Berde had parallel to Anil Kapoor.
