Some of the action in the Arrow-verse crossover moves to Earth-x in this episode of The Flash, which understandably gets pretty dark, with Oliver, Barry, Sara, Alex, Jax and Stein waking up in a concentration camp there after learning that Kara-x needs Kara's heart. Back on Earth-1, Thawne has taken over S.T.A.R. Labs for just that.
"Crisis on Earth-x, Part 3" sees the heroes on Earth-x meet some people who are on their side (and introduces The Ray and brings in another version of Leonard Snart) as they try to get home. Meanwhile, Felicity and Iris, the only ones not being held captive in S.T.A.R. Labs, end up in danger trying to help their friends.

It’s been a bumpy few days for Justice League, as its release is joined by news of hurried VFX and more...
Nb: The following contains spoilers for Justice League and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

If the opening shot of Justice League wrong-footed you, then rest assured: it wasn’t only regular audiences who were left startled by Superman’s uncanny valley face. A brief scene designed to reintroduce a gentler, kinder First Son of Krypton, the superhero epic’s opening instead sparked widespread discussions about Henry Cavill’s top lip.
As was commonly reported before Justice League’s release, the cast of DC-Warner’s movie were recalled for extensive reshoots during post-production, during which time Cavill had already signed up for a role in Mission: Impossible 6 - a part that required him to grow a moustache.

Today is the day for DC and Warner Brothers. At long last, all of their superheroes are sharing the screen. A few hours from now, the first public screenings of Justice League will begin, giving fans a chance to not just see Batman, Superman (yes, he’s in it…duh), and Wonder Woman on screen, but also Aquaman, Flash, and more. This has been the goal since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was first given the thumbs up. So, what about the quality? Well, it’s better than Suicide Squad, I’ll give it that. Where it stands elsewhere, well, that’s something we’ll get to below… The film continues the story began in Man of Steel and continued in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Taking place after the events of the latter, the world now lives with the death of Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill). His...

Zack Snyder’s painfully titled “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” had all the worst attributes of modern-day superhero storytelling: unearned gravitas, a bloated running time, and interchangeable CGI-stuffed battles. “Justice League” offers a tepid mea culpa, attempting to liven the material (with a third-act assist from Joss Whedon, who finished the movie when Snyder stepped away for tragic personal reasons).
Taking more than one page from Marvel’s first “Avengers” installment, “Justice League” rounds up the current spate of active D.C. franchise superheroes, and the resulting 119-minute pileup of showdowns and one-liners is an undeniably tighter, more engaging experience. It’s also a tired, conventional attempt to play by the rules, with “hold for laughs” moments shoehorned between rapid-fire action — a begrudging concession that the Marvel formula works, and a shameless attempt to replicate it.

Even though Junkie Xl is a fantastic composer in his own right, I’m reasonably certain that not many fans were up in arms when Danny Elfman was announced as being his replacement as composer on Justice League a few months back. After all, Elfman was responsible for the music heard in Batman and Batman Returns, both of which remain two of the best superhero soundtracks to this day, at least in my opinion. But, if you need a little more assurance, know that his resume also includes heavy hitters in the genre such as Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Hulk and Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
Still, there may be some of you out there that need more convincing, so it’s quite fortunate that a sample of the film’s score has now found its way online. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we’re able to listen to the third track,...

The villains for this year's Arrow-verse crossover have finally been revealed, and they feature quite a few familiar faces. That's meant in the most literal sense as "Crisis on Earth-x" will feature an invasion from evil doppelgangers of all of our favorite heroes as well as The Ray, who is getting his own animated show on CW Seed. Check out the reveal in the tweet below and continue reading:

A black-and-white cut of James Mangold's brilliant and final Wolverine film, titled simply Logan Noir, is coming to select theaters for one night only; the special edition will be on available on 4K and Blue-Ray next week. Today, Comicbook.com released a trailer for this special edition, and it is grim, powerful stuff.
There aren't any new or extended scenes evident in this trailer, but the monochromatic palette brings out details and texture that may not have been apparent before. Opening with the same Johnny Cash song from the original theatrical, full-color trailer, these scenes of Logan (Hugh Jackman) sweating, straining, and suffering somehow evokes an even darker and more melancholy mood (if that's even possible).

Last weekend the new trailer for Justice League was unleashed online, and as expected, it met with mixed reactions. I actually kinda thought it looked cool, but a lot of people out there that will disagree with me on that, which is fine. Even though I thought the trailer was cool, I'm well aware that the movie itself will end up being another disappointment. It will most likely be another big, great-looking visual spectacle with no real substance.
Below you'll find a bunch of screenshots from the trailer along with an interview with USA Today in which director Zack Snyder talks about each of the main characters in the film and their story arcs in the Dceu. In regard to Batman he explains:
“He’s been a loner for certainly his crime-fighting career, maybe with the exception of Robin. When we meet him in BvS, he’s definitely at this low point of isolation.

Well, that happened.
With the Spear of Destiny in one piece, the it only took DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 15 for the thing to fall into the wrong hands.
Why? Why do you think? Because at the heart of it, like many other DC characters who are trying to be heroic, the Legends aren't nice people.
To be honest, I couldn't (or didn't care to) follow along with the logic of going here, there and everywhere for the pieces of the spear and Christ's blood, and Tolkien was a wasted real-life character in the hour.
Damien Darhk finally took control of Eobard Thawne's disastrous command of the Legion of Doom's terrible attempts to get the pieces of the spear, and Mick finally had enough of jerks tossing words like friend and loyalty over their shoulder while thinking of him as nothing but trash.
Bravo to both sides.

What would you say to a new live-action, anthology series based on the short stories of legendary sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick, funded by UK's Channel 4, and produced by Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Cranston? Could you maybe squeeze time into your busy schedule for 10 episodes of speculative fiction, from a writer's room whose credits include: Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Justified, Doctor Who, and The Night Manager? Sounds awesome, right? Well, good news, it's called Electric Dreams and it's coming soon to Amazon Prime.
Anthology series were a regular staple in the early days of television (Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Alfred Hitchcock Presents), but in recent years the standalone format has fallen out of favor. Yet, many people will tell you that their all-time favorite TV episodes were one-off stories, like "Home" (X-Files Season 4) or "Yesterday's Enterprise" (Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 3).

After a week off from the traditional Legends of Tomorrow episode we get right back into the traditional format. Last week's episode "Legion of Doom" was a nice surprise to see an episode focus on the villains and Thawne's motivation to obtaining the Spear of Destiny. Out of all the CW shows right now the Legion of Doom are by far the best villains. This weeks episode saw the effects of Rip Hunters mind being manipulated by Thawne. Rip fully aware of his past now has a different perspective of his past actions. What was once an idea of a noble cause was now change to a series of regrets.
This caused the team to have to go up against the man who recruited most of them to join him on a journey to fix time. The backdrop for this episode was Christmas time 1776 when General George Washington is about...

As the release of the new Justice League of America series draws near, more information slowly comes to light. Just this week, writer Steve Orlando went into detail describing what it took to bring the likes of Batman, Lobo, Black Canary, the Ray, the Atom, Vixen, and Killer Frost together.
With a one-shot centered on Killer Frost looming, Comicosity continued probing Orlando and got him to say the following regarding her heroic turn:
“A lot of her character came from our artist Mirka Andolfo’s work, as my co-writer Jody Houser and I saw it develop on the page. Frost to me is an interesting character. A lot of of it is about owning what you’ve done and finding a way to move forward as an adult and as a person in the world.

Being the second DC film to arrive in 2016 to have been met with mixed feelings by moviegoers, Suicide Squad arguably has the advantage over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in that it was leggier at the box office and seemingly caught on more when it came to merchandising, along with inspiring legions of cosplayers.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to like about this movie, but there’s also quite a bit that I found to be less than satisfactory. Director David Ayer brought an expected sense of gritty realism to the film along with a certain gravitas needed when bringing so many iconic supervillains to life, many of which are appearing on the big screen for the very first time. He obviously had a clear vision for the adaptation, but it was quite obvious that the studio had other ideas after BvS didn’t exactly...

For those of you who haven't watched five years of Arrow and only tuned in for the mega-crossover event, this hour might have been confusing for you.
Because while Arrow Season 5 Episode 8 was certainly a continuation of the crossover that began in earnest on The Flash Season 3 Episode 8, it was also a 100th episode celebration, which is why very specific characters were beamed up to the alien ship.
The question is whether or not "Invasion!" was a fun and satisfying watch that met demands as both part of the crossover and the 100th episode.

Believe it or not, it's kind of easy for me to stand back from this one from a crossover standpoint, because I stopped watching Arrow. Oh, I still know what's going on with the series because I read all the reviews. I'm the editor!

How fun was that? We're total suckers for alternate universes and dead characters, so tonight's 100th episode of Arrow was right up our alley. As it turns out, those aliens who came to earth in last night's episode of The Flash can do more than just turn friends against each other. They can also create entire worlds to convince Oliver, Diggle, Sara, Thea, and Ray that they're living in a world where Oliver, Sara, and Mr. Queen never got on the boat that led to the birth of the Green Arrow. In this world, Oliver and Laurel are about to get married. The wedding brings nearly everyone to town, including Sara, which allows for a beautiful reunion between Sara and...

With DC recently following in the footsteps of Marvel by having an onscreen shared universe, various characters being granted cameos in movies not their own will now apparently be the norm at WB. Sometimes this can feel shoehorned in and other times it can feel quite organic, while also succeeding in exciting fans. Such was the case with The Flash’s guest appearance in Suicide Squad.
It’s no secret that many of the villains who partook in this team-up film that showcased many subtle levels of morality have had run-ins with Batman in the past. Captain Boomerang, however, can’t really count himself among their number because he is, in fact, a member of The Flash’s fabled Rogues. As such, it made sense the Scarlet Speedster be the one to apprehend him, making for a more seamless cameo than the one seen in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

It's been tossed around that DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 1 could be looked at as a bit of a series restart instead of a second season premiere.
That's all well and good in for newbies just getting acquainted with the series, but for those of us who have already been through a season, this was repetitive and not nearly as entertaining as it could have (should have) been.
So what did the premiere do well? At least one thing.
The introduction of Nate Heywood felt natural to the story that was being told. It's pretty easy to imagine the Legends would somehow get into a predicament that would leave them stranded in time and in need of rescue.
Right off the bat, we learned Nate is no dummy. He went to Oliver because he knew Sara and Ray were friends of his (and/or the Green Arrow's) and when Oliver started to protest,...

Grey Damon, known for starring in Friday Night Lights, has been cast as Sam Scudder aka Mirror Master, in Season 3 of The Flash.
Mirror Master was created in 1959's Flash #105 by John Broome, and had gone on to be one of the major villains in the rogues gallery. In the comics, Mirror Master has the ability to travel through mirrors, trap others in them, and other various powers revolving around mirrors. Of the three Flarrowverse series on The CW last season, DC's Legends of Tomorrow was the most fun, just for the sake of being fun.
Yet it also didn't pull back from some pretty dramatic stuff, like leaving people behind in time or killing them outright.
There is certainly room for improvement going into DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2, and this is where we'd start. Take a look!
1. More Characters are Given Meatier Storylines With a cast as big as that of Legends of Tomorrow, it's easy for some characters to get lost in the shuffle. There will always be standouts, but the writers have to work really hard to balance that by writing stories that are just as meaty for every character on board the Waverider. That wasn't the case for Legends of Tomorrow Season 1. In fact, we still barely know Jax, who was around on The Flash before jumping on board the Waverider,...

Despite many theories and heavy hints in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, the first villain the newly-formed Justice League will fight won't be Darkseid. Instead, it's a lesser-known character and one that was left on the cutting room floor of BvS.
DC has had a tough go of it since they embarked on their cinematic universe. Despite the few who enjoyed Man of Steel and BvS (myself included), neither have been the record-breaking hit that the established comic book company has strived for. It could be due to Zack Snyder's leadership (as some believe it to be), it could be the pressure to catch up to Marvel, or maybe it could be something else entirely.
Regardless, DC is trying really hard to get their train back on the rails. There have even been rumors that a leadership change is in the works and the whole "dark, gritty" aspect may be alterred.

This episode got to see the team travel to the future of 2166 to finally confront Vandal Savage at his pinnacle. While the first half of the season was mainly focused on stopping Savage in the past, the suspense and pace of the show has gotten a boost since going to the future. The best episodes of this season has been when the team has travel to the future. Seeing Oliver as an old version of the Green Arrow, Ray Palmer and Palmer Tech creating the foundation for Vandal Savages army of robots, and when Ray supersizes to fight the Leviathan have been the big highlights of the show. I think the overall fun of these episodes are due to the unknown for the audience. Moving into next season I believe the foundation of this show needs to be focus more in the future.

The time masters police force needs a big overhaul. So far in one season we have seen the Time Master Council send bounty hunters on three different occasions to go after Rip Hunter and the crew. With the bounty hunters are 0 for 3 trying to take down Rip, I think it’s safe to say that the Time Council needs to really think about who they send next.
The introduction of The Pilgrim was a nice addition that I wish hadn’t been ended with this episode. With iZombie recently having concluded its phenomenal second season, many fans have probably been wondering when they will be able to add it to their shelves.
