The first two years the show was just called "Paradise". It was changed to "Guns of Paradise" for the third season.
The series was immortalized with film and television editors since raw footage, consisting of several takes of the same scenes, was used with permission as material to teach editors how to use the then new digital non-linear editing system called the Avid Media Composer, from 1990 - 1994. Several scenes were used from episode 10 of the first season, "Hard Choices". The system went on to become the standard for editing movies, commercials and various forms of film and video and is still the most popular editing system in use today.
