Did Principal Strickland ever have hair? And were the McFlys always slackers? The answers nearly came true at FanExpo New Orleans over the weekend, as Michael J. Fox and James Tolkan reunited, recreating their famous showdown at Hill Valley High.
In the photo (seen below), Michael J. Fox and James Tolkan joined up to give a modern recreation of the scene in which Principal Strickland gives Marty McFly a verbal berating in the hallway, telling him, “You got a real attitude problem, McFly; you’re a slacker. You remind me of your father when he went here; he was a slacker, too.” Really the only thing that would have made this shot better was if Claudia Wells (Jennifer Parker) was by Fox’s side. As the caption reads: “Slackers never change and Mr. Strickland will be sure to remind you. Michael J. Fox and James Tolkan reunited at #FANEXPONewOrleans2025 today...

The iconic video of Nicole Kidman’s Saturday Night Live skit has made a comeback, and it’s creating a buzz online. In this, Kidman brilliantly recreated the famous Risky Business dance from the 1983 film, originally performed by her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. The video, which originally aired in 1993, is being rediscovered by fans, and they’re loving it all over again.

Tom Cruise has done it all: dangling off planes, scaling skyscrapers, and riding motorcycles straight into danger. But leave it to Logan director James Mangold to nearly send him to the great action star afterlife during a stunt that looked way too chill to be deadly. No helicopters, no explosions, just one tiny misstep away from disaster.

While Cruise is usually the guy who laughs in the face of danger, even he probably broke a sweat on this one.

It is quite fascinating to see how life trains people for what they are going to become, through things that often appear unrelated. Getting into Hollywood was not a dream for many celebrities who are big stars now, as they had completely different aspirations before. Such seemingly unrelated first steps set them up for success in ways they couldn’t have imagined, and Tom Cruise is a really good example of this.

Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan may be the “Complete Unknown” at the center of James Mangold’s ’60s folk music biopic, but Dylan’s musical peers Joan Baez and Johnny Cash also get a chance to shine. They’re played by Monica Barbaro (now a SAG nominee for her performance) and Boyd Holbrook with a loose reverence for the actual people, with performances that, instead of imitation, take cues from the music itself. They’re the moths to Dylan’s flame, but they follow their own star in this movie.
“James Mangold is a brilliant director, and he positioned this so beautifully so that you have multiple perspectives of the people who surrounded Bob and not even so much that it plays in the sense of power dynamics, but just that you have really independent, identifiable people and how they receive Bob and the impact that he has on them...

From Captain Vidal in Pan’s Labyrinth to Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds, charismatic sadists have always been an integral part of cinema. But amid the numerous villains in film history, Tom Cruise’s character in Magnolia ranks among the very best in that category. As of today, the 1999 film is not only one of Cruise’s best works but also Paul Thomas Anderson’s masterpiece.

Magnolia shifted the audience’s perceptions about motivational speakers as much as it shifted their perceptions about Tom Cruise’s skill as an actor. Despite his already A-list movie star status, Cruise achieved cinematic immortality through his role as Frank Tj Mackey – a character that was beyond complex and virtually impossible to represent on the screen.

Tom Cruise comes with a lot of expectations and responsibilities attached to his name. The actor, who has made himself out to be a modern-day legend simply on the back of blockbuster action movies, is an A-lister for a reason. For a long time, Cruise has known exactly which path to take in order to be a star with unmatched glory.

In the years since his Top Gun fame, Cruise has given the industry a taste of every genre and the variable range of his innate skills in acting. From dangerous and charismatic in Interview With the Vampire to a psychotic assassin in Collateral, from a comical antagonist in Tropic Thunder to a cowardly time traveler in Edge of Tomorrow – he has done it all.
Now, it seems as though Tom Cruise might be up for a repeat of that last experience with a long-awaited Edge of Tomorrow sequel.

When it comes to renowned director Doug Liman, no one can question his bold choices and visionary take on filmmaking. Even when he ventured into the dark side of American patriotism with the Tom Cruise-led American Made (2017), Liman surprisingly managed to justify his opinion behind the narrative that many dubbed as “anti-Top Gun”.

Despite highlighting the questionable ethics of U.S. foreign policy during the 1980s and how the CIA dealt with things, Doug Liman called his movie extremely patriotic and quite American in its essence. Further, challenging the conventional notions of American heroism, Liman admitted that this movie was deeply personal on many levels.

Director Doug Liman has surprisingly revealed that his 2017 action comedy film American Made starring Tom Cruise was intentionally fashioned to make the audience feel some sort of semblance with 1986’s Top Gun. Well, in both films, Cruise portrays a pilot – a type of role that has become synonymous with the actor.

Of course, if a filmmaker casts Cruise in the same part that made him worldwide famous, people are going to make comparisons, something that Liman actually expected. In a sense, then, American Made would not exist if Top Gun never happened.

Doc Short Contenders Give Voters Plenty to Ponder
The 15 films that made the shortlist in the Oscars’ documentary short category are all powerful and thought-provoking, making the competition for an Academy Award nod incredibly stiff this year.
Leading the charge are “Incident,” “The Only Girl in the Orchestra,” “The Quilters,” “Death by Numbers” and “Keepers.”
The first 89 seconds of Bill Morrison’s police brutality doc “Incident” is silent. Security footage captures a street in Chicago on a July afternoon in 2018. Minutes later, a man is dead. Through a series of recordings of CCTV and police bodycam footage captured from different vantage points, Morrison offers a raw look at the Chicago police shooting of a Black man. The 29-minute New Yorker film won the best short documentary award at the 2023 IDA Documentary Awards and garnered a spot on the influential Doc NYC shortlist earlier this year.

Tom Cruise, (62) hit the movie scene with Risky Business in 1983 and later he did well, becoming a household name for Top Gun and Mission Impossible. Recently, he won a U.S. Navy Award, but some people dissed him. Read on to find out why.
Tom Cruise Was Always A Heartthrob
Heartthrob is not a word often used in 2025, but that’s exactly what the young actor became in the 1980s. A very handsome young man, his fans would scream with joy if they saw him anywhere in person. The famous face married three times, and he became very prominent in the Church of Scientology.
Tom Cruise also did a lot of work with the U.S. Navy. Actually, his movies inspired people to sign up for the Marines as well. So, he was made an Honorary Naval Aviator. Of course, he also continued making movies and appeared again as Ethan Hunt...

Tom Cruise is often called ‘The Last Movie Star,’ and for a very good reason. Over his five-decade career, he’s become one of the most famed names in Hollywood, drawing crowds with his blockbuster roles.
Think Top Gun, Mission: Impossible, and, of course, his signature heartthrob status. But beyond the splendid, tempestuous roles, there’s a side of Cruise that often gets overlooked. That side comes out in the 2004 thriller Collateral, where the movie star played a hitman.

It’s because Collateral isn’t the first movie that comes to mind when you think of Cruise, and it’s often overlooked despite being a solid hit at the box office. Fans of his more famous roles might not expect him to play a cold-blooded killer in a dark thriller.

Which Tom Cruise Movie Inspired Timothee Chalamet During Dune: Part Two Filming? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Timothee Chalamet took a page from Tom Cruise’s playbook while filming Dune: Part Two, and no, it wasn’t just about the intensity. It was Top Gun: Maverick. Chalamet alluded he watched Cruise’s high-flying action flick a whopping eight times during the production of his own epic saga. Talk about dedication! He even rented out a theater in Budapest to screen Top Gun: Maverick for the entire Dune cast and crew. “Some of the crew were kind of scoffing at going,” Chalamet admitted to GQ. “But I just thought it was one of the greatest films I’ve ever seen.”

When you look at relationships—whether personal or professional—sometimes, the strongest bonds are built on respect, trust, and a shared sense of purpose. And while tabloids are quick to spin tales of romance and drama, the truth is often quieter and more grounded than the headlines suggest.
Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 2 | Credit: Paramount Pictures
Take Tom Cruise and Maha Dakhil, for example. The pair recently found themselves at the center of rumors when they were spotted sharing a meal at a restaurant in London. Their cozy, “touchy-feely” demeanor sent the rumor mill into overdrive, with many questioning if their professional relationship had crossed into romantic territory.
But as the old saying goes, things are not always as they seem. According to those close to the duo, while they clearly share a deep friendship, their connection is far from anything romantic.

Both Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise are two of the greatest actors in Hollywood, famous for a lot beyond just their acting performances. Even when they joined hands to work on the Top Gun film series which saw them going from rivals to friends, both actors brought to the tables commendably iconic gigs. But appreciation for their onscreen performances isn’t all the pair share.

As it turns out, Kilmer also shares a rather heartbreaking tragedy with Cruise on losing the Academy Award despite giving one of his best performances to date in The Doors. If anything, his not getting recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the same wasn’t something just noticed by fans worldwide; it was even admitted to by filmmaker Oliver Stone.

The 1991 spoof Hot Shots! found itself to a small degree mirroring the front pages of the newspapers – and 20th Century Fox was worried.
Save for a few sporadic examples – the first Scary Movie, for instance, and more recently The Goes Wrong Show on the BBC – it feels like the era of the successful screen spoof came to a juddering halt in the 1990s. In 1993, we had the second of two Hot Shots! films, and in 1994 the Naked Gun trilogy came to an end. After those? It was slim pickings.
There were further attempts to breathe fresh life into the spoof – Spy Hard, Jane Austen’s Mafia!, Wrongfully Accused – but nothing that could live up to some of the movies we got in the 80s and early 90s.
In 1991 in particular, the spoof was a box office draw. This was the year when many big budget Hollywood productions came in well below box office expectations.

Image Source: Amazon While most of the eulogies for the late Jim Abrahams have rightfully centered around Airplane!, the movie that catapulted him and the Zucker brothers into the public consciousness, it would be negligent to ignore some of the other films he made. Just as Airplane! skewered disaster movies, Hot Shots took aim at the success of Top Gun and other iconic ’80s films. Continuing with his practice of casting against type, Charlie Sheen — who was primarily known for his dramatic roles at that point — was brought in as the film’s lead. When the film was originally released, Sheen talked to us about Abrahams gave him the confidence to feel like he could be an on-screen comedian (a skill that would later serve him well on Two and a Half Men). It didn’t take long for Tom Cruise to move past Nicole Kidman after their separation in 2001. When Kidman was reportedly aching over the breakup, Cruise got involved with Vanilla Sky co-star Penélope Cruz. Just months after his earlier relationship broke down, Cruise was seen on a vacation with Cruz, something he had allegedly planned with Kidman.

The MCU is the biggest movie franchise in the world, and it shows no signs of stopping down. In 2025, the makers are set to wrap up Phase Five and enter into Phase Six, where all the major storylines are set to culminate. The crown jewel of this phase is going to be the two Avengers films – Doomsday and Secret Wars. The two movies have already sparked a lot of rumors about which heroes might make an appearance.
Adding to this long list is now Charlie Cox, the actor who plays Daredevil. He is a fan-favorite character who recently returned to the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the She-Hulk series. Now, Daredevil is all set to rule the hearts of MCU fans with his standalone television series Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to start airing on March 4, 2025. Beyond the series,...

Did Benedict Cumberbatch improvise an emotional scene in Spider-Man? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Turns out, the moment when Strange reacts to Peter Parker’s sacrifice wasn’t written in the script. Nope, it was all Cumberbatch, improvising his way into your heart.
The scene in question? That gut-punching moment where Peter Parker decides to have everyone forget him to save the multiverse, and Doctor Strange has a moment of emotional turmoil. According to Cumberbatch, that powerful response came straight from him. “To show that I love him, I didn’t want him to make the sacrifice of being forgotten,” he said, adding that the idea hit him during reshoots when Holland was struggling with the script.
No Way Home director Jon Watts, who’s known for managing tone like a pro, saw the brilliance in Benedict Cumberbatch’s improv. Watts loved it so much that he decided it had to stay in the movie.

Micheal Shannon rejected Star Wars? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Yes, in regards to this offer, Michael Shannon said, “I don’t find them interesting,” Shannon declared, shutting down any galaxy far, far away dreams. Fresh off the post-Force Awakens frenzy, Shannon was reportedly offered a part in the next wave of Star Wars movies.
But unlike most actors who’d leap at hyperspace-level stardom, Shannon kept his feet firmly planted on Earth. “I’m always a bit wary about those giant movies,” he alluded. “They take a lot of time, and I don’t find them very stimulating to work on.”
Ouch. Micheal Shannon wasn’t just wary of time-consuming blockbusters. He was flat-out uninterested in perpetuating what he called “mindless entertainment.” In his words: “The world doesn’t need more mindless entertainment. We’re inundated with it.” For a franchise known for space battles and endless merch, that probably hit like a Death Star laser.

Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, & Natalie Portman (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Imagine Brad Pitt screaming, “I am a golden God,” as the charismatic Russell Hammond in Almost Famous. Sounds ironic, right? But believe it or not, that near-moment almost happened. In a throwback, director Cameron Crowe revealed that Pitt was initially tapped to play the lead guitarist of the fictional rock band Stillwater. Instead, Billy Crudup ultimately brought the role to life, but the casting process was much more star-studded than you might think.
In the early stages, Crowe had his sights set on Pitt. The two had an undeniable connection after an extraordinary meeting during Say Anything, and when Crowe started working on Almost Famous, Pitt was his first choice. Crowe recalled, “Brad Pitt was on my mind… he just really had something.” For months, they worked on the character, even reading with none other than Natalie Portman, who was in...

Hugh Grant Shares A Wildly Funny Encounter At Comic-Con (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Hugh Grant’s San Diego Comic-Con experience turned into the bizarre when a hot dog costume followed him for three whole days. As the actor promoted Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves alongside co-stars like Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez, Grant revealed an unsettling (yet hilarious) stalker moment that’s still giving him nightmares.
During an interview with Collider, Grant admitted to his Comic-Con anxieties—feeling “old” and “past it” compared to Pine’s younger, superhero appeal. But the audience proved him wrong. The room wasn’t met with “dead silence,” as Grant feared, but instead, one particular fan showed unwavering affection.
“Only one person at that convention really loved me,” Grant quipped. “And he was dressed for three days as a hot dog. And he followed me wherever I went. I couldn’t shake him. I still have nightmares about him.

Dwayne Johnson and Tom Cruise are two of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, and it’s undeniable how far they have come in their careers to earn the fortunes they possess. However, the fact that The Rock is now richer than Cruise says a lot about the former wrestler.
Dwayne Johnson / Credits: WWE
Everyone is familiar with Johnson’s road to fame. He started competing in the WWE and later on transitioned to acting, in which he found his footing and made a name for himself. It’s evident that he gained a lot of money from his movie projects alone given how they were designed to be franchise blockbusters, but this isn’t why he became a billionaire.
Dwayne Johnson’s entrepreneurial ventures earned him more than his movie projects
Esquire previously released the list of richest actors for 2024 and the majority of names here are very familiar to all of us.

Tom Cruise Promoting A Christopher Nolan Film ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Tom Cruise pleasantly surprised the entire film industry in the summer of 2023 when he promoted Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, the latter’s magnum opus that would derail Cruise’s own Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One the very next weekend. This rivalry extended to reserving all the premium IMAX screens for Nolan’s film, a move some might equate with the life-threatening stunts the Ethan Hunt actor is famous for. However, assuming the persona of a true movie star, the Top Gun actor has long been an advocate for films beyond his own, predating his endorsement of the Cillian Murphy–Robert Downey Jr. starrer.
The incident ties back to Cruise’s consistent efforts to fill theater seats and save the cinema industry post-covid-19, a dedication publicly acknowledged by Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg, who credited Cruise for “saving the...

As soon as credits began rolling on The Batman, so did the rumor mill about when The Batman, Part II would hit theaters. Every nerd on the planet knew Matt Reeves could not allow that film to end with just a singular offering.
However, it has felt that way with what is now the third delay since that amazing film ended. At CinemaCon 2022, Wbd motion picture major domo Toby Emmerich joyously announced that The Batman was coming back to the big screen. Then, Matt Reeves said this from the stage:
"Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter," Matt Reeves told Deadline in April 2022.

On Friday, December 27, 2024, we were given terrible news: The Batman Part II is being delayed by another full year all the way to October of 2027. Naturally, this was incredibly disappointing news for fans of Matt Reeves’ The Batman. This is now the second time The Batman Part II has been delayed. Its original release date was supposed to be October 2025, but was reasonably delayed due to industry strikes and given a new release date of October 2026. Now, it’s been pushed back again.
I theorized the delay was truly because Robert Pattinson’s Batman was going to be integrated into the Dcu, which you can read here, and Gunn has not actually confirmed or denied that theory. There’s been tons of rumors and “confirmations”, but no official word on whether or not the merge is happening.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s was one of the most talked-about love affairs of all time, even more so when it came to their abrupt divorce. For around 6 happy years, the pair showered each other with tremendous love and respect as they even cemented the “It” couple of Hollywood front by working together professionally, but the inevitable split soon followed in 2001.

Now, years later, it seems like the divorce may not have been a mutual decision after all. Back then, when Cruise filed for divorce from Kidman, it came as a devastating surprise to many. Turns out, it was an equally tragic surprise to the wife as well, who seems to have been against this split, with only the actor reportedly seeking to lawfully separate himself from her.
Nicole Kidman reportedly didn’t split from Tom Cruise of her own will Tom Cruise.

Taylor Hackford's "Ray," the 2004 biography that chronicles the life of legendary musician Ray Charles, closely follows the conventions of the genre. It wears its sentimentality on its sleeve, the kind that often accompanies biographical portraits of geniuses, and uses embellishments to heighten its dramatic stakes. Despite these genre trappings, "Ray" emerges as a soulful, spirited drama because of Jamie Foxx's central performance, which oozes charisma. Foxx disappears into the role of the titular boundary-pushing artist, bringing the eccentricities of the man to life to convincing ends. The success of "Ray" can also undoubtedly be attributed to Foxx, who won a Best Actor Oscar for his work in the film. Apart from being nominated in more than five categories at the Academy Awards, "Ray" also won an Oscar for Best Sound Mixing (which is clearly deserved).

"Talk to me, Goose," whispered Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) in "Top Gun: Maverick." But Goose couldn't due to being dead. That's what die-hard fans of the original film would've already been aware of when Tom Cruise's heroic hot shot alter ego, took to the sky in the 2022 sequel from director Joseph Kosinski. Besides blowing past the $1 billion mark, the second film reunited us with Maverick who had demons to address, most specifically getting over the death of his late Bff.
The wingman of wingmen, Nick "Goose" Bradshaw was the glue that kept "Top Gun" grounded in Tony Scott's 1986 film right up until he couldn't, and the action movie-loving world wept from his death. But just who was Goose? What was he to Maverick and what was the reasoning behind his untimely demise? Well, to find out the who, what, why, and when of his best friend's passing, we...

Warner Bros. stated on Friday that “The Batman” will have a sequel on October 1, 2027. The highly awaited film directed by Matt Reeves has experienced its second delay. The film was pushed back to 2026 earlier this year after being set to come out in October 2025.
Robert Pattinson will play the superhero again. As Reeves continues to polish the script, the production is expected to start in the third quarter of 2025.
James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, talked to fans on Threads’ social media site about their worries about the long wait. He told us, “Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write.” He also said that once the script is done, pre-production, shooting, and post-production for big movies usually take two years.

Monica Barbaro is ready for her big spotlight. From flying high as a pilot in “Top Gun: Maverick” to embodying the iconic Joan Baez, Monica Barbaro is making her mark in Hollywood. With her latest role in the James Mangold-directed Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown,” Barbaro demonstrates her acting range and untethered ability to channel the essence of one of music’s most revered activists.
Barbaro’s casting as Joan Baez was a long journey, beginning with her audition in March 2020 — just as the Covid pandemic disrupted Hollywood. “My first audition was right before the world stopped,” she recalls during the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast. “I obsessed over Joan Baez, but I didn’t let myself prepare too much — it wasn’t my job yet, and I had to protect myself emotionally.”
That changed in 2023 when James Mangold emailed her the subject line: “Joan is yours.”

At this point, it really is a wonder if there's anything Tom Cruise can't do. After falling, jumping, and flying through the air in a fashion that makes mere mortals tremble, one thing he can check off the bucket list is making his way onto IMDb's Top 250. With a filmography consisting of some iconic level entries that have defined eras and raised the bar in their respective genres, it only made sense that his work would be shown some love alongside some of the greatest films ever made. What's surprising is just which film made the cut.
Even before his magnificent run of "Mission: Impossible" movies (which all displayed his actual magnificent run), Cruise had appeared in films like "A Few Good Men," "Jerry Maguire," "Collateral," and "Risky Business." But none of them could compare to the time he got back in the cockpit as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in "Top Gun: Maverick.

Frigid take: Nicole Kidman is one of the most gifted and flat-out watchable movie stars working today. Now in the 41st year of her film acting career, she has been nominated for five Oscars (with a Best Actress win for "The Hours"), and a staggering 15 Screen Actors Awards (with one win in 2017 for "Big Little Lies"). She feels perfectly at home in any genre, and, at 57 years old, is more prolific than ever thanks to her gleeful embrace of television films and miniseries. Kidman loves to work as much as we love watching her work!
For evidence of her versatility, you can zoom in on pretty much any four-year chunk of her career and be wowed. Take 1995 - 1999 for instance: she went from Caped Crusader love interest in "Batman Forever" to Femme Fatale weather woman in "To Die For" to doomed seeker in the costume drama "The Portrait of a Lady...

Austin Butler’s Bold Decision To Turn Down Top Gun: Maverick (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Austin Butler wasn’t feeling the need for speed. When he got the opportunity to join Top Gun: Maverick, he opted instead for a trip down Quentin Tarantino’s Hollywood Boulevard. “I don’t want to do that,” Butler said. Big gamble, right? But it paid off big time.
Flashback to 2018: Tom Cruise was already teasing Maverick in May, while Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood started filming later that summer. Both projects were buzzing, but Butler had to choose. He rolled the dice and, well, hit the jackpot.
Fast-forward to today, and it’s safe to say Butler’s Hollywood map didn’t need fighter jets. Tarantino himself couldn’t stop raving about Top Gun: Maverick. “I f—ing love Top Gun: Maverick,” he alluded on the ReelBlend podcast. He called it...

“I believe in the goodness of human beings, and I believe that most people in this country despite their ideological beliefs or politics are doing their best to get by and are trying to be good people despite what it might seem like to the other side or what that other side might be, and I think this movie is about that,” Gunn said.

There are two different films that explain what it means when a director says that they were inspired by mythology to create the film. Coincidentally, both Zack Snyder and James Gunn were talking about their own take on Superman while saying the same thing.

With James Gunn and David Corenswet’s Superman having a teaser reveal, it seems that Gunn stuck true to his words. The teaser featured moments of flights like Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, and the director also stated that his film is also inspired by an epic fantasy show.

Tom Cruise had no issues in going up against Harvey Weinstein way before the MeToo scandal brought down the Hollywood producer. Last year, fans heard from director Todd Field about how Cruise helped him to avoid Weinstein from hijacking his film. Interestingly, Cruise also took his chance to parody Weinstein in one of his roles.

Fans believed that Cruise used the role to call out Weinstein’s aggressive behavior at a time when he was still all-powerful in the industry.

Being from the entertainment industry, only a few stars love movies like Tom Cruise. The revered Top Gun star is undoubtedly the biggest cinephile in Hollywood, indulging in iconic movies that hit the theatres. So it’s not quite surprising to see Cruise pop up during the screening of the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.

The fact that he supported Timothée Chalamet’s movie was cool enough, but the cherry on the cake turned out to be his reunion with his Top Gun: Maverick co-star, Monica Barbaro. While fans on social media are losing their minds over how Cruise appeared on the red carpet to support Chalamet, it seems that the actor was there mainly for his former co-star, Barbaro.

One of my favourite conspiracy theories involves people questioning whether Tom Cruise has ever actually seen a movie. I mean, I’m sure he has… right? He must have… The man loves movies. All kidding aside, Tom Cruise is always down to support the big-screen experience, and he recently joined the cast of A Complete Unknown at a special screening in London. Check out some pictures from the event below!

Tom Cruise has been awarded the Department of the Navy’s Distinguished Public Service Award.
The actor – already the US Navy’s 36th Honorary Naval Aviator – received his award in London by Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro for “his outstanding contributions to the Navy and Marine Corps” on Tuesday. The Dps Award is the highest civilian honor bestowed by the US Navy.
“It was an honor to present Tom Cruise with a Defense Public Service award for his decades of naval advocacy through many movies,” Del Toro said. “His work has inspired generations to serve in our Navy and Marine Corps.”
Cruise’s biggest form of contribution obviously comes from “Top Gun” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” where he played Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The military branch pointed out that public awareness in the Navy rose following the first film’s release that directly led to a surge in pilot...

The U.S. Navy today gave Tom Cruise its highest civilian honor for “his outstanding contributions to the Navy and Marine Corps.”
At a ceremony in London, U.S. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro gave the Top Gun: Maverick star the Department of the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award, the highest honor the secretary can bestow on a civilian outside the Department of the Navy.
While Cruise’s work on the two Top Gun films is likely a big reason for the honor, Secretary Del Toro also cited Cruise’s decades of work from 1986 to 2023, a span that also included Born on the Fourth of July, A Few Good Men and the Mission: Impossible movies.

Tom Cruise played a U.S. Navy aviator in the “Top Gun” movies, and now he’s being recognized for his on-screen representation of the military branch.
On Tuesday, Cruise was awarded the Navy’s top civilian honor, the Distinguished Public Service Award, for his “outstanding contributions to the Navy and the Marine Corps” through his work in “Top Gun,” “Born on the Fourth of July,” “A Few Good Men” and the “Mission Impossible” franchise. The ceremony took place in London, as Cruise is currently working in the U.K.
Cruise received a medal from U.S. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro and said he was proud of the “extraordinary acknowledgement.”
“I admire all of the servicemen and women,” Cruise said, according to the Associated Press. “I know in life, something that is very true to me, is that to lead is to serve. And I know that to my core.
