Peter stated to the frat party that no one has been into Garth Manor since the killings years prior, yet when they enter through the front doors, no one is surprised to see a room full of lit candles.
In the long final shot of the movie the leg of the supposedly dead villain on the car visibly twitches during the push-in on Marti.
Jeff Staggs's occupation is misspelled in the end credits as "Construction Coodinator", while Barbara Javitz's occupation is misspelled as "Production Coodinator".
The hulking guy that Seth shot outside the mansion was never identified. Only the mute son was supposed to have been haunting the mansion, and he was still very much alive, as he subsequently killed Seth. Marti and Sean even questioned who Seth had killed as the giant mute was breaking down the door to their room.
The boom camera can be seen in the open matte VHS version when Seth (Vincent Van Patten) is demonstrating his surf moves to Denise (Suki Goodwin).
In the opening, Peter says that Garth Manor has no modern conveniences, yet Seth was able to flush a toilet, indicating indoor plumbing.
At the start of the film. Peter claims that after the father killed his wife and three of his four children in the haunted mansion, the police found only three "corpses," Since the father hanged himself, there should have been five bodies found.
