Goofs

When Senator and Mrs. Bartholomew are getting ready to leave Goliath, Dr. Marlowe advises her to hold onto her husband's belt as she follows him. She proceeds to do this as they enter the water. The next scene shows her leading the Senator as they swim through the underwater passage.

When Ryker goes back into the water to assist Peter and Lea, he and Peter talk to Lea underwater in an effort to calm her down. However the three of them are wearing the basic breathing masks supplied to the other Goliath survivors, which do not have the communication system used in the diving helmets.

In the beginning one of the techs has a side-scan sonar image of the R.M.S. Goliath in profile, as if were laying on its side. We later see that the Goliath is upright on the ocean floor.

The "hot tap" shows that the atmosphere of the Goliath is 1 1/2% oxygen, the rest hydrogen. In that atmosphere, the handgun which was fired in the ship would've caused an explosion.

The Admiral says he needs decompression chambers. EACH of the submersibles IS a decompression chamber.

The destroyed ship "Goliath" is viewed completely beneath the surface sinking through the perspective of the attacking submarine's periscope despite the fact that the scene's setting is nighttime.

When Mr. McKenzie is talking with the aquaculturist about the size of a fish, the latter's lip movements don't match up with the voice.

At Beth's party, Ronald Bentley (John Carradine) asks Selkirk (Robert Forster) if he had a chance to talk to his agent. However, earlier he had asked Peter (Mark Harmon) to do it, not Selkirk.

In the credits, John McIntyre is listed as playing Samuel Bartholomew, however his wife calls him Oliver several times.

When discussing sending divers in to sample the air, Selkirk tells the admiral "As long as they don't take their heads off, they should be alright." He should have said: their helmets.
