- GoofsAt the beginning, the boys gather to bring Spikes some food under a bright blue NIGHT-time sky. But his scene was obviously filmed during the daytime, using a filter to darken the images. These scenes were only slightly darker than the preceding scenes when the posse came through looking for Spikes. This slightly darker scene, coupled with the sound of crickets, was evidently supposed to give the illusion that it was nighttime, despite the brilliant blue sky!.
- Quotes
Will Young: We sure didn't mean nothing like this to come of it. We didn't desire to commit murder. It just kinda ran away from us.
Harry Spikes: Well, we all started out as somethin' else, way back.

a western
Lee marvin. Twenty year old ron howard. When local boys come across an injured bank robber called spikes. They fix him up and help him escapre. Later, the boys run away and rob a bank, but it all goes wrong. A bigshot politician is dead, so they hit the road. And bump into spikes again. Can he teach them to be successful bank robbers? The kids better grow up fast. It's okay. A lot happens in that 96 minutes. Filmed in spain? Long way to go to make a western. Directed by richard fleischer. Novel by giles tippette. A very different role from richie cunningham, which howard was just starting.
