- Trivia"One less Hamlet" was shot in about two months in the autumn of 1972 in Cinecittà (and for some outdoor scenes) in two studios: a large leather all doubled with a white floor and lit diffuse light, which allows not to change the lights for different scenes, the other smaller and all black. Masini uses full diffuse light and effects produced by mirrors. The film is shot in 35mm color (but some scenes are in black and white). The camera is often held in the hand with frenzied movements where large angles abound. The editing of Contini is generally very fragmented. It's Bene's shortest film. The film was presented in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 21, 1973. It was distributed in theaters in Milan on May 8, 1974 and in Rome on November 8.
