- Quotes
Herr Buchsbaum: Basically I am a happy person. State official third class in the ministery of finance. It may sound like nothing but if you think that there are 7 classes, that there are only two classes above me and four below me. My department is the most important one, the tax warning office. Such a tax declaration, the whole life is lying there, one naked man. His input, his output, his lies. This morning my boss has read a letter that I created, a Mahnbrief: "Dear Sir, may we take the liberty to put your sincere attention on the fact that you, surely mistakenly, forgot to send us the back installment of 174 marks plus a small warning charge of 1,50 to our account. Yours faithfully". My boss likes me. I am popular with my colleagues, everybody congratulated me. And my home, you know my flat. It's not a luxury appartment but it is a nice, cosy flat and most importantly, it is quiet. What is more important that quiet. And in the evening I look at my stamp collection, Stamps from far countries. It is like if you would make a world trip. And a small walk to you, my friend, from time to time. We talk, we give our tongues. What else does a man need?

Russian translation it charmed. The actor work of the leading duet, especially Nicole Courcel, is on the high level. The high level of the film in whole is the more remarkable, taking into account that a literary precursor (story, on which the screenplay was based) is rather weak.
