This was the first in a series of "Crime Does Not Pay" shorts produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. This was one of a number of series of shorts produced by MGM during this period. For this series, each short was two reels in length and was cast with "B" unit actors and supporting plays with an occasional appearance by a ""name" actor, The shorts were a proving ground for actors, up and coming directors and other technicians. When this series of shorts ended, it was continued as a radio series that ran until the early 1950s.
