The true story of the Fiil family - a family of innkeepers who during Nazi-Germany's occupation of Denmark took up arms against the German occupiers, but in the fight for freedom, some must die so that others may live.

An American student comes to Denmark. He meets a local girl student and her male cousin while walking around the horse statue at Kgs. Nytorv. A friendship is forged between the three, and by following them we experience more parts of Copenhagen as well as the country's most beautiful places - and also the best-known exporting industries and its workforce.
