- A bus load of students are kidnapped, among which are the son of the U.S. President and daughter of heads the powerful business conglomerate Meg Fitch. Meg tells her sister Susie Dunn, an FBI agent with whom she wasn't in contact for many years, about the event. Also, in the investigation of the abduction takes part idealistic U.S. Secret Service agent Marcus Finley, whose first day of work in the protection of the president's son falls on these tragic events. They have access. They have protection. But they have one weakness - their children. The kids are the leverage. You are the ransom. What would You do for your child?
- Following a mysterious phone call, Meg Fitch must collect a large sum of money if she wants to see Amber again. The Pakistani Ambassador must do the unthinkable to get his son back. In the mansion the students are tested by their captors.
- As Finley and Dunn continue to look into the backgrounds of the parents, three of the parents are tasked with using their influence to steal a key piece of the mastermind's puzzle from the CIA. Meanwhile, Meg deals with the aftermath of her actions. At the mansion, Amber deals with the unwanted attention of one of her captors while Beth Anne and Kyle start to get closer.
- Gibson uses his wife Janice to gain information about the CIA's covert soldier program. Dunn and Finley go off grid, becoming targets of the CIA when they take drastic measures to get information. Meanwhile, Meg searches for her company's connection to the kidnapping and is willing to put everything on the line to get Amber back.
- When Finley and Dunn plot to lure the kidnappers out of hiding with a CIA file as bait, Finley comes face to face with one of the kidnappers looking to settle a score. Beth Ann fears for Kyle as he plots a way to escape. Meanwhile, Meg betrays someone close to her in exchange for information. Elsewhere, Widener connects with a mysterious asset to monitor Gibson's plot.
- Seizing their opportunity to speak directly to the kidnapper, Finley and Dunn become one of the parent missions. Meanwhile, Widener continues to collaborate with TJS on a brutal plan to take out their former associate Gibson.
- When President Devore pays a visit to FBI headquarters, Director Olsen allows Dunn and Finley to share their theories on the kidnapping with him. Gibson sends a parent on a mission that could bring the United States to war with China. At the mansion, Ian discovers the secret entrance to the kitchen command center and bears witness to something unthinkable.
- After Finley and Dunn meet with the President and First Lady, they soon realize that the Chief of Staff is the next parent sent on a dangerous mission to save his child.
- Dunn and Finley are being pulled in two directions simultaneously. Gibson is expecting them to turn over Clarenbach as per their deal. The CIA's Smith has taken Dunn's sister, Meg Fitch, prisoner and will kill her unless they turn Clarenbach over to him. They finally learn that Gibson is behind the kidnapping scheme. Dunn goes looking for her sister and turns to her boss for help. Finley takes Clarenbach to FBI headquarters and shows him some of the information they have. He recognizes the kidnap house from a drawing and knows where it is. He wants a deal before he reveals anything. Gibson meanwhile has contacted one of the parents, Jakob Vries, and sends him after Clarenbach.
- The police have found Jin Lao's body and realize Gibson is sending a message to the other parents. At the kidnap house, Ian tells Beth Ann what he saw her father do but assures her the kidnappers made him kill Jin Lao. Gibson needs more time for Jonas to finish the serum and so contacts another parent, a neo-Nazi who quickly sets off with half a brick of plastic explosive. The FBI manage to trace Gibson's call to its destination and they soon surround the kidnap house. Throughout it all, Gibson seems calm and determined, as if his plan is rolling out exactly as planned.
- Finley is forced to go inside the mansion as part of a hostage exchange. In an effort to trick the world into believing he is innocent, Gibson takes extreme measures and sets his sight on a new target for his next parent mission. With Meg's help, Gibson enacts a piece of his plan that will bring out the truth about the soldier program.
- The tables have turned. Gibson finds himself on a mission orchestrated by Beth Ann's kidnapper, who insists Gibson publicly confess to his crimes at a ceremony with the President and First Lady. Meanwhile, Ian receives a cryptic message that sends him and Amber on a dangerous mission. Elsewhere, Finleyand Dunn attempt to stop a threat and stumble upon a shocking revelation.
- Tensions rise as the court case looms for Meg Fitch. Meanwhile, Finley enters the mansion as part of a planned exchange of hostages. Gibson commences a part of his plan that will reveal the truth about the soldier program.
