- Actress
She grew up in the US state of Utah. Flint then attended high school in Germany, where she graduated with a high school diploma. Her dream of becoming a doctor failed due to the numerus clausus. She initially worked as a photo model, waitress and beautician and completed three years of acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School. She appeared at various theaters, including the Munich Residenztheater. With good reviews, Katja Flint made the jump to film. In 1983 she had her first leading role in the post-war drama "Kolp" alongside Heiner Lauterbach. The film flopped with audiences, but was showered with praise from critics. This was followed by films such as "Forget Mozart", "Only Women, No Life", "The Democratic Terrorist" and "You'll Kill Me". The film "The Winners", directed by Dominik Graf, marked her breakthrough in 1994.
This was followed by the TV films "The Venus Killer" and "Silent Steps", which achieved high ratings. Flint became a new type of woman with an erotic charisma. In 1985 she married the actor Heiner Lauterbach. At the age of 38, she was named "The Most Beautiful Woman in Germany" by the magazine "Bunte". In 1995 she played in "The Girl Rosemarie", directed by Bernd Eichinger, with Nina Hoss and Heiner Lauterbach. In 1997, "Widows - First marriage, then pleasure" followed, directed by Sherry Hormann, with Ornella Muti, Eva Mattes, Martin Benrath and Uwe Ochsenknecht. However, some of her films were not exactly beneficial for her career. Examples of this were the stupid film "Voll normaaal" (1994) with Tom Gerhardt or "Ballermann 6" (1997). "Apartment for a Suicide" and "Vicky's Nightmare" followed in the same year.
In 1999 she appeared in front of the camera for Thomas Bohn's "Straight Shooter" with Heino Ferch, Dennis Hopper and Ulrich bother. In 2000 she portrayed the legendary actress and singer Marlene Dietrich in "Marlene" for producer Bernd Eichinger. The film won the Hollywood Film Award. A role in the over-the-top 2000 satire "Suck My Dick" did little to boost her popularity as a serious actress. In her private life, her marriage to fellow actor Heiner Lauterbach failed in 2001, and in 1988 her son Oskar was born from this relationship. The separation took place in 1991. From 2001 to 2006 she was the partner of the Austrian writer Peter Handke. In the cinema production "The White Masai" she played the alcoholic "Elisabeth". In 2007 she appeared in the comedy "Why Men Don't Listen and Women Park Badly" based on Leander Haußmann. In 2009 she appeared in front of the camera for "Beyond the Wall".
In 2012, Flint played the second leading role alongside Saskia Vester in the television film "Getting married is not a solution either". In 2018 she again received a leading crime scene role in the production "Der Turm". The TV film "My Mother's Friend" followed in 2019.- Actor
