This started out okay. The lead actress is attractive and talented, but her character was flawed.
She was a lazy mother, whose child was left to raise himself, because it was important that he learn to be "independent". Yet her mantra was be there to"support your family".
She professed one thing and did the opposite. Hypocrisy. The only reason she made the right decision at the end and went to her son's play was because she had to, after she overheard that she wasn't going to get a promotion. Otherwise " supporting your family" wasn't going to happen.
The two leads had absolutely no chemistry whatsoever.
The male lead was boring and so annoying! The script had him as a neurotic over protective father. He never changed.
Dull as dishwater.
The flamboyant drama teacher was way over the top for the first half of the movie.
He was better at the end.
The kids were okay.
The boy was a good actor.
The principal was good, also. A funny example of a junior high school principal.
