Ya gotta love the scene where a crowd of neighbors follow recovering agoraphobic Joe, marching to the corner of his block, then stopping, as he finally and boldly storms away to the thrilling culmination of this twisted plot, in typical Naked City style, a fairly convoluted one. A great one for Valentine's Day! Plenty of stars from future productions, a decent amount of New York street scenery, a few bits of Italian dialogue (some between Arcaro and citizens), the sullen, brooding performance from the future school principal from "Room 222". The subtle social commentary on the competitive relations between and among family owned and operated small businesses and union labourers is deliciously appreciated...
