Been meaning to watch this for ages.
I resonate with the lead actor. Trying to navigate through his disconnection with his taha Maaori in a Paakehaa world. Blaming others for this when it is his own stuff. Harsh and so real - but beautiful.
I know heaps of 'Tau' in my life. So deeply connected to who they are and I feel whakamaa around them. They get this awkwardness from me when it isn't theirs to own.
Really interesting and well acted. Love seeing my culture on display and feelings as a Maaori on TV outside of kapahaka.
Thanks
