The Ranger and Tonto find Will Yeomans dead, shot in the back. Nearby is the track of a horse with two nails missing from a shoe. Will's father Jeff is an old friend of the Ranger and Tonto. He is filled with rage and blames rancher Ben Ranson for the killing. Jeff's other son, Tom, is a peaceful type who plays the piano. Jeff sends Tom to town to kill Ben. The Ranger and Tonto convince Tom to go home. His father is greatly disappointed that his son backed down and calls him a coward. Tom decides to leave the ranch forever. Jeff decides to change his will. Can the Ranger and Tonto figure out who really killed Will? And what was the reason for the murder? A good episode with more talk and less action than usual.
