A Film Carried by the comedians of 60s
26 December 2015
"Sadhu Aur Shaitaan" presents good versus evil with a defeat of evil for which the protagonist Om Prakash, a sincere employee of a bank, has to suffer a lot. The thing different in this movie is it's carried on the shoulders of the comedians and doesn't have any hero or heroine. It's hard to decide who is the main protagonist, Om Prakash or Mehmood. Besides, we have a string of other actors playing their parts, Pran, Kishore Kumar, Nasir Hussain, Mukri, with cameos from Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt, and Dilip Kumar. You'll just imagine what sort of combination this would be if you're an avid viewer of 60s movies. But clearly the film belongs to Om Prakash from whom the film becomes gripping. Mehmood, Pran, and Kishore Kumar, although good, couldn't avoid overacting. The story is slight but still entertaining. If you can overlook the stretching of the movie towards the end, the film isn't disappointing but will entertain you.
