A second series of this excellent British TV documentary on historic houses, hosted by Jeremy Musson (Country Life magazine Architectural Editor), starts on BBC2 on March 30, 2006 (thereafter weekly). There are 8 half-hour programmes, starting with Holkham Hall, Norfolk, UK, home of the Earl of Leicester and birthplace of the Bowler Hat. Other UK houses include an Arts-and-Crafts home in Surrey and a crumbling manor in Kent owned by a Russian princess. Some episodes cover homes outside the UK, such as an Anglo-Italian house in Lazio, a Georgian plantation villa in Jamaica, and a Tudor manor house in Africa. Mr Musson visits each of the houses as a weekend houseguest and explores the history of the house, the estate and the family. Some of the houses featured are open to the public, including Holkham, Burghley, Chavenage and Chillingham.
