The Bequeathed is a slow-burn Korean crime thriller streaming on Netflix. The 6-episode show sometimes feels tedious and has a lackluster punch; however, it’s a decent weekend binge-watch, especially with friends, because you can come up with your own theories and find little details to make it more entertaining. But if you’re looking for something more unnerving in terms of plot twists or criminal activity, then some of the shows on this list are going to be feeding you well. Of course, there are the classics like Tunnel, Signal, and Voice that are usually the first on this list, but I’m going to avoid those and give you some slightly newer shows that you may have missed. On the other hand, I’ve also added a couple of shows here that come under the “exasperated” watch list because of how frustrating they are to watch. Anxiety to the roof,...

It seems Blackpink's Jisoo and Ahn Bo Hyun's romance wasn't meant to last because the famous pair split after only a few months of dating.
Back on Aug. 3, it was revealed that Jisoo was dating Ahn after the pair were photographed meeting up in pictures obtained by Korean news outlet Dispatch. Jisoo and Ahn's respective agencies, Yg Entertainment and Fn Entertainment, confirmed the new relationship. "They are getting to know each other with positive feelings," the agencies said in a statement to Newsen (via Soompi), adding, "We would be thankful if you look upon them with warmth."
However, on Oct. 24, after three months of low-key dating, Korean news outlet Jtbc reported that the pair had split. A source told the publication, "Jisoo and Ahn Bo Hyun's relationship naturally became distant due to their busy schedules, and...

See You In My 19th Life has come to an end, and we’re sad that we can’t look forward to seeing a shy Ahn Bo-Hyun get rattled by a forward Shin Hye-Sun any longer. The 11th episode had to be the most dramatic of them all, and Shin Hye-Sun proves again that she’s incredible at crying on screen (Looking at you “Angel’s Last Mission: Love”). A lot of questions still remain at the end of episode 11, and episode 12 gives us the closure we need for them all, but is it a happy ending for Seo-Ha and Ji-Eum? Let’s find out!
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens In The Episode?
In her first life, Ji-Eum (Su) had died beside Seo-Ha (Han-Ya) after cursing herself to remember the rage she felt, and the moment Cheon-u killed her sister for 1000s of years until she got her revenge. Seo-Ha is right...

After seeing the movie Past Lives and sitting down to watch See You In My 19th Life, there’s an interesting sense of overlap between the two drastically different plots. One is a fantasy tale about a girl who remembers her past lives, and the other is a movie about a love story that could’ve been, but both talk about the fate of meeting someone special in life. As we come closer to the end of See You In My 19th Life, there are a lot of new developments in Seo-Ha and Ji-Eum’s relationship. At the same time, we’re getting closer to the revelation of why someone tried to kill Seo-Ha all those years ago. It’s a shame we’re not going to get to see more of the sizzling chemistry between Ahn Bo-Hyun and Shin Hye-Sun, but alas, good things don’t last forever.

Shin Hye-Sun’s much-anticipated comeback is a webtoon adaptation. See You In My 19th Life is extremely fun, and it’s so interesting to see Ahn Bo-Hyun in this role that’s so different from anything we’ve seen him do before, although he slightly resembles his character in “Yumi’s Cells.” Still, that’s a more realistic show, whereas See You In My 19th Life has a fantastical element that makes him feel even more out of place, but it works perfectly. In the first two episodes, we got introduced to the characters Seo-Ha and Yoon Ju-Won. Ju-Won was a beloved friend to Seo-Ha, but she died when they were young, leaving Seo-Ha alone; except that that was Ju-Won’s 18th life, and she remembers all her past lives. When she’s born again in her 19th life, she’s determined to come back to Seo-Ha, so that’s how...

It would be fair conclusion to say that 2021 was a successful year for K-Dramas. The year, through many cable and national broadcasting networks, the country’s tv industry released many successful series. Streaming giant Netflix too came in strong, buying world-wide distribution rights to many popular titles, while also doubling down on their own original productions, investing heavily into content from the country and increasing output too, to the point of releasing a new K-Drama almost every month in the second half of last year. Of course, the success of a number of these shows is now well-known, but other streaming services like iQiyi, Viki etc. also played an important part in getting several Korean series out to the wider worldwide audience, resulting in a strong year for shows of various genres.
Without further ado, here is the list of the 20 best K-Dramas of 2021, in descending order.

“Hellbound,” the TV series debut of “Train to Busan” director Yeon Sang-ho, is one of three shows to be showcased in the new On Screen section of the Busan International Film Festival. The festival also announced that its Asian Contents & Film Market will operate in similar fashion to last year in a hybrid format.
The On Screen section is intended to “showcase highly anticipated drama series on Ott platforms as either world premieres or Asia premieres,” the festival said. This “precisely reflects the current state of the market, which is expanding multi-directionally, while embracing the extended flow and value of cinema.”
The two other new shows are “My Name,” from Kim Jin-min (Netflix’s “Extracurricular”), and youth drama “Forbidden,” which was co-directed by Thailand’s Anucha Boonyawatana and Korean-American, Josh Kim.
“Hellbound” and “My Name” are both Korean dramas set to play out on Netflix, while “Forbidden” is an HBO Asia original series.
