To finish out an excellent year of movies, Netflix announced its full slate of fall movies on Aug. 28, and we can look forward to even more hot titles of every genre, from horror to holiday, featuring some of the biggest stars.

After behind-the-scenes conflict marred the final cut of 2019’s Men In Black: International, director F. Gary Gray returns with a simpler premise for Lift. The story initially begins at an auction in Venice, where international thief Cyrus Whitaker (Kevin Hart) arrives to bid on an item. Keeping an eye on Cyrus is Interpol agent Abby Gladwell (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), although it becomes clear that this is part of the plan when Cyrus’ team evades the agents to simultaneously kidnap an Nft artist and steal a Van Gogh painting.

Under the orders of her boss (Sam Worthington), Abby offers a deal to Cyrus and his team for immunity. In exchange, they agree to steal the $500 million in gold that billionaire Lars Jorgensen...

Review: The entire plot of the Quibi/Roku series Die Hart hinges on Kevin Hart wanting to break out of comedy roles so he can be taken seriously as an action hero. While that plot was played for laughs, it was not the first time Hart tried something different. Both his films The Upside and Fatherhood, as well as the Netflix limited series True Story gave Hart more opportunities to channel his dramatic talents, but Lift is the comedian’s first project that is straight action without the reliance on his being the butt of the joke. F. Gary Gray‘s latest Netflix heist film is coming tomorrow and for the people who are excited about film Lift, CinemaBlind is here to watch and judge the upcoming film in advance for you. Starring Kevin Hart in the leading role, the film revolves around a group of master thieves whom Interpol catches at the beginning of the film, but they are offered full immunity and in turn, they will have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist.

Lift is another one of Netflix’s blockbuster cinema like what they tried to do with Ryan Reynolds‘ 6 Underground and Red Notice, but the good thing here is that it is better than both of those films but it is also nowhere near the great heist film like Ocean’s Eleven or Gary Gray’s own The Italian Job.

After parodying his attempts to become an action-movie star in the Quibi/Roku short film series Die Hart (later compiled into a Amazon Prime feature), Kevin Hart goes for the gold in the genre and attempts to do the real thing in Lift, an absurdly ridiculous, over the top but still entertaining heist movie that strains credibility at every turn — but who cares because it’s got Hart.

The latest bloated Netflix star-driven action epic on the scale of Red Notice and The Gray Man, this one has our star as master art thief Cyrus Whitaker, whom we meet with his team trying to pull off one of their signature thefts at a Venice Italy auction house involving an Nft (just to keep this as contemporary as they come), leading to a wild boat chase all over the colorful canals but not ending well for the gang.
