Allen Christopher(II)
Allen Christopher is an American producer-writer from Cleveland, Ohio well known as an early proponent of interactive television with mass audience interactive game applications being successfully broadcast on affiliates of every major television network.
Formally trained at Oberlin Conservatory of Music he performed extensively in his earlier years in regional theater, summer stock, children's theater and various music festivals; as well as being part of the cult comedy horror hosting duo 'Frank & Drac' on WOIO-TV19. After college he briefly served as a deputy law clerk in Cleveland, Ohio, then relocated to Los Angeles where he worked primarily as an independent producer-writer and eventually became based in New York.
As a television executive, Christopher served as Sr. VP of Programming & Network Operations for Channel America, increasing the network's reach to it's peak of 44,000,000HH while steering the company towards a board mandated sale. He also served as President of Unit with Unitel Video in New York for the development of interactive television and headed Sovamedia in conjunction with the Academy of Sciences, U.S.S.R. for the marketing of declassified Soviet technology to the West.
In addition to his executive and production credits, Christopher was recognized as the key author from the private sector for the Digital Media and Motion Picture Tax Credit Incentives for the State of Connecticut which since it's inception in 2007 has generated over $1.2B in new business for Connecticut.
Christopher has been a guest speaker on the financing of digital media and motion pictures for ACG/The Yale School of Management, Showbiz East, The Greenwich Film Festival, The Connecticut Film Festival and The Chagrin Falls Documentary Film Festival.
Christopher has also been a guest speaker or panelist on interactive television and digital media for NATPE, The Paul Kagan & Associates Seminars, The Harvard Club and others. While based in Los Angeles, Christopher was also a member of the Committee For Prudent De-Regulation.
