Betsy is a young actress raised in Athens, Georgia. As a child, she was inspired to be an actress by watching her big brother, Duncan Sligh, perform in theatre. Betsy has had a busy acting career. In 2018, Betsy filmed several scenes as Emma, actor Gavin Stenhouse's little sister along with life size doll Tyra Banks in Disney's long anticipated Life-Size 2, the sequel to Life Size starring Lindsay Lohan in 2000.. Life-Size 2 is now a permanent addition to Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas.
In 2022, Betsy's appeared in her third feature film, Amazon's I Want You Back starring Charlie Day, Jenny Slate, and Scott Eastwood and in which she was directed by Jason Orley and plays Amy, an awkward middle school girl.
Betsy also filmed lead roles in two horror films, Homestead and The Desecrated Ones. In Homestead, Betsy plays the role of Irene who finds herself suddenly responsible for the survival of her family when a gang of outlaws invades their home. Irene is a hot-tempered, hair-triggered young girl who trusts few and shoots first. Betsy leads this film with Brian Krause, and Greg Kriek. ln The Desecrated Ones, Betsy leads the film alongside Brian Krause and horror Icon Camille Keaton from I Spit on Your Grave.
Betsy entered the world of horror early on when she was cast at the age of nine in the award-winning horror film The Maiden, directed by Michael Chaves (The Nun 2, The Curse of La Llorona and the Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) and filmed by award-winning cinematographer, Tristan Nyby (Billie Eilish's Bury a Friend). This frightening film was Chaves' directorial debut and was filmed at the iconic Beckett Mansion in Los Angeles.
Betsy has a found footage feature, horror film post production, award winning Dooba Dooba. Betsy has won Best Young Actress for her performance as a traumatized young girl who is so traumatized that she has to have a babysitter as a teenager.
Betsy recently filmed the role of Samantha in NBC's Found created by Greg Berlanti and Nkechi Okoro Carroll. It stars Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Found will air on Oct 3, 2023. Betsy will appear in the season finale episode.
