After 11 seasons of drinking, depravity and debauchery, fans showed up for Showtime’s last call for “Shameless,” the premium cabler’s longest-running series to date, this past Sunday. The final episode of the dramedy and 12th episode of Season 11, titled “Father Frank, Full of Grace,” drew a cross-platform total of 1.5Mm, up 41% versus the penultimate episode (1.1Mm) and 29% over the premiere (1.2Mm).

The 9 p.m. linear telecast on April 11 garnered 695,000 viewers, up 33% from the penultimate episode, and essentially tied with the season premiere’s telecast on Dec. 6, 2020 as the best telecast of the season.

As with all premium series, the bulk of viewing will be delivered across platforms on-demand, streaming and delayed viewing— so the numbers will likely increase once those metrics are factored in. Sunday’s projected on-demand and streaming number, 769,000, jumped by 61% from the penultimate episode and delivered a series high for the show.

No shame in these numbers: The series finale of “Shameless” drew 1.511 million total viewers across multiple platforms, according to Showtime. That’s a season high, 29% better than the Season 11 premiere (1.2 million viewers) and +41% from the comedy’s penultimate episode (1.1 million).

It is a shame, however, that the long-running show is over. The 11-season “Shameless” was Showtime’s most-watched and youngest-skewing comedy. When you factor both of those claims in, it makes sense that “Shameless” was Showtime’s most-streamed comedy series of all time.

Linearly, the 9 p.m. “Shameless” series finale telecast drew 695,000 TV viewers. The rest of the viewing came from streaming and on-demand.

Prior to the launch of Showtime’s over-the-top streaming platform in 2015 (so from 2011-2015), “Shameless” averaged 5.19 million total viewers per episode, according to the premium cable channel. Beginning on Sunday, December 27 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt, the six-episode series will feature new, original Shameless scenes juxtaposed with a retrospective look at each character’s journey over the prior 10 seasons.

Things are changing in the South Side.

Showtime on Tuesday dropped the full-length trailer for Shameless Season 11, and it's going to be tough to say goodbye.

There are many big talking points after the trailer, which finds Frank vowing to beat the gentrification of the South Side.

He makes it his mission to make his neighborhood dangerous all over again, but it appears that his plan may prove to be too little, too late.

Meanwhile, Ian and Mickey are still struggling to define their relationship despite getting married.

They need to arrive at a "mutual understanding" of how their marriage will work, but nothing is ever easy for them.

It shows the characters at very different stages in life than when we left them on Shameless Season 10.

The final season was originally slated to launch earlier this year, but due to the Covid-19 shutdowns that plagued most TV shows, it was delayed.

As a result, scripts were rewritten to incorporate the pandemic, which makes sense.

Carly Pope has been cast as a guest star in ABC’s two-part Season 4 premiere of “The Good Doctor,” Variety has learned exclusively. Pope will portray Lily, a woman whose husband has become sick with symptoms that mirror those of coronavirus. The premiere, which focuses on the effects of Covid-19, will include Lily’s increasing frustration at not being able to stand by her husband’s side due to safety protocols in place. Showtime has set an early December premiere date for the upcoming 11th and final season of “Shameless,” the premium cable network announced Tuesday.

The comedy will return Sunday, Dec. 6 with new episodes seeing the Gaallagher family “at a crossroads, with changes caused by the Covid pandemic, gentrification and aging to reconcile.” Series stars William H. Macy, Jeremy Allen White, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, Cameron Monaghan, Christian Isaiah, Noel Fisher and Kate Miner will all return.

Macy) confronts his own mortality and family ties in his alcoholic and drug induced twilight years, Lip (Jeremy Allen White) struggles with the prospect of becoming the family’s new patriarch.

Shameless‘ end will begin on Sunday, Dec. 6, it was announced by Showtime.

The dysfunctional family drama resumed production on Season 11 on Sept. 8, following the pandemic-dictated shutdown.

Shameless’s Gallagher family will gear up for one last season, with Showtime’s renewal for an eleventh and final season.

Shameless Season 11 is officially set, marking a monumental swan song for the veteran Showtime series.

The confirmation of Shameless’s final season was made by Showtime Networks President of Entertainment, Gary Levine, at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour. With the final frame set, the irreverently-embattled working-class dramedy series – which launched on Showtime on January 9, 2011 – is on track to make the decade mark with its eleventh season. While no official release date was provided for Shameless Season 11, the show typically premieres in the fall, meaning that the final season would presumably spill into 2021. Indeed, the currently-running Season 10 – kicked off back in November 2019 – will round the finish line on January 26.

Shameless is officially coming to an end, it has been announced.

The news broke Monday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

What's more, the eleventh and final season will get underway this summer, meaning fans will not have a long wait in store for the endgame.

“The characters of Shameless have brought Showtime viewers more laughs and tears and pure enjoyment than any program in our history,” Gary Levine, President of Entertainment at Showtime Networks, said in a statement.

“While we are sad to bid the Gallaghers farewell, we couldn’t be more confident in the ability of showrunner John Wells, his writing team and this great cast to bring our series to its appropriately ‘Shameless’ conclusion.”

Added Wells, “I’m unbelievably thankful for all of the years of support from Gary Levine and everyone at Showtime that’s allowed us to make Shameless.

Showtime has renewed “Shameless” for an 11th and final season, the network announced on Monday during the Television Critics Association press tour.

The final season will air this summer. The series, which is the longest-running in Showtime’s history, is finishing out its 10th season, which will end on Jan. 26. That means that 2020 will see the end of two major series for Showtime, with “Homeland” returning on Feb. 9 for its eighth and final season.

“It will be one last hurrah for the Gallaghers and their unique blend of love and lechery,” Gary Levine, president of entertainment for Showtime, said in making the announcement. “John Wells and his gifted cast promise to take ‘Shameless’ out for a bang, and knowing Gallaghers we all as we all do, that is no idle threat.”

Showtime has renewed Shameless for an eleventh and final season.

The premium network will air the final of the William H. Macy-fronted drama in the summer. This comes after season 10 of the launched on November 10 2019 and the 12-episode season is set to end on January 26.

President of Entertainment at Showtime Networks Gary Levine made the renewal announcement at the Winter TCA Press Tour.

“Airing this summer, it will be one last hurrah for the Gallaghers and their unique blend of love and lechery,” Levine said. “John Wells and his gifted cast promise to take Shameless out for a bang, and knowing Gallaghers we all as we all do, that is no idle threat.”

Showtime and the Shameless producer Warner Bros. have been in renewal conversations for the past couple of months while also talking with the cast about coming back. Macy had said publicly that he would like to continue playing the Gallagher patriarch.

Shameless Season 10, premiering tonight on Showtime, picks up some time after Emmy Rossum's Fiona skipped town to start a new life. 

From the get-go, it's evident that the show has lost the glue that held it together since the series debuted. 

When the series premiered, Fiona was the person caring for all of her siblings, but as the series progressed, they started looking after themselves.

Growing up in the South Side made all of these kids grow up faster than they should have. 

Even if you felt like Fiona's storyline had run its course, every other storyline on Shameless Season 10 feels out of place without the eldest Gallagher being there to keep things moving.

Shameless Season 10 is fast approaching and to celebrate us being one more day closer to the premiere, Showtime has dropped the official trailer. 

Fans have waited years to have Ian and Mickey back together, and it looks like there is trouble in paradise. 

Ian says to Mickey at one point that he needs a break, and it is poised to cause a whole host of problems. 

If you watch Shameless online, you know that the pair are sharing a cell in prison while trying to make their relationship work.
