Patrick Garcia is an award-winning film director, producer, writer and all-round animation and VFX Guru. Patrick Garcia has sold his films worldwide to some of the largest studios and platforms globally such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Lionsgate and has been in the film and television industry for over Twenty years having specialized in both live-action and animated feature films. Known for turning productions on a micro to medium budget platform into lucrative and successful productions, Patrick is characterized by his unique vision and way of storytelling, his rapid pace edits, stylistic visuals and pragmatic use of special effects makes him one of the world's most dynamic and creative directors.
Specializing in both film and animation, Patrick started out directing television commercials (100+) which led him to work for many international high profile companies e.g DeBeers Diamonds, PlayStation, Sony, BMW to mention but a few. He has also worked alongside some of the most talented animators and artists in the industry such as Jessica Abrams (Pixar Animation) Jijo Sujathan, (DreamWorks), Tessa Comrie (Triggerfish Animation), Alex Mandel (Pixar Animation) who has worked on award winning animated shorts and epic box office hits such as Toy Story 3, Monsters University, Brave, Up, and Cars 2. He also directed and produced his first animated series which was sold to the US entitled "The Zens".
Patrick's current films include the cult horror film, "Hell Trip" which showcased at Comic Con Africa in 2018, and was a major success selling to over 20 Countries globally and landing on the top 10 most viewed films on Netflix for 2 consecutive weeks. The spine-chilling thriller "Last Sacrament" which also released on Netflix among a multitude of streaming platforms world-wide. The sci-fi thriller "The Construct" (post-production), the multi-million-dollar 3D animated Sci-fi, "The Body Defenders" (in-production) and "Killsite", a high pace action film comparative to the likes of John Wick meets Mission Impossible, with pre-production of Killsite 2 already underway. The mind-bending horror, "Psychosis" (post-production), The Sci-fi Action/Horror, "The Entity" (pre-production) and the pop culture sci-fi adventure, "RCADE" (pre-production) along with the action-adventure sports film "Arms of Legend" also in (pre-production.)
Apart from a fruitful career as a film director and producer, Patrick has also worked as a DOP on numerous co-productions working on titles such as the period drama "The Magician" starring John Savage, the martial arts/action film "Red Cargo" the Swaziland and Bangladesh co-production "Palladin" and the short film "Night Terrors" as a Producer on the New Zealand post-apocalyptic sci-fi, "Northspur" released by Lionsgate. In addition, Patrick Garcia is the Founder of ACT Animation Studios, a visual effects and animation studio based in Johannesburg, and has since produced numerous visual effects for many top production companies in the USA, UK and Australia. Patrick has also been at the forefront of both live-action and 3D animated feature films as both a world class DOP (Director of Photography), and as a consultant in animation, lighting, texturing and visual effects. He is president of Master 3D and has been widely acclaimed for his 3D seminars and tutorials on animation and visual effects. Patrick is often asked to attend international Film Conferences as an executive guest speaker such as Film-com, The Ugo Film Festival, Comic Con 2018, 2019 & 2020 and many other major animation and film festival arenas. Patrick is also the CEO of Filmsinvest, an online film investment platform which allows investors to diversify their investment portfolio in a slate of feature films "digital assets." Patrick continues to work with many of Hollywood's celebrities.
