John Legend and Linda Perry collaborated on a new pro-voting song, “Get Up and Vote,” as part of a new social media campaign ahead of the midterm elections. The songwriters posted solo renditions of the brief jingle on social media, encouraging artists and fans alike to record their own takes.
“Hey hey, come together/ We can make the world much better,” they sing in the clips. “Can’t give up on hope/ Gotta get up and vote, gotta get up and vote.” Legend retweeted videos from several other singers and followers,...

5 Seconds of Summer put the old-school machismo of Japan’s Rockabilly culture at the center of their new video for “Youngblood.” The anachronistic clip follows a gang of Fonz lookalikes through Tokyo. They smoke cigarettes and sport shellacked pompadours. Strutting to the propulsive beat, the gang take over a main square, West Side Story-style, pouting at their female Rockabilly counterparts in polka-dot dresses.
The concept for the video came from director Frank Borin (Angel Haze, The Script, Tinashe), who became fascinated by the country’s improbable rockabilly scene during a previous trip to Japan.

For weeks, Angel Haze has been teasing a new project named Back to the Woods, the first collection of new music since their self-released 2013 debut Dirty Gold. Today Haze has released the full project (reportedly not their sophomore album), via Billboard, which you can stream in full below. It's fraught with emotional distress, stemming from what Haze describes as an overwhelming period of loss for both those around them and themselves — Haze's mother and sister (not to mention Haze's breakup with Ireland Baldwin). Haze turned to drugs and had stints in a psych ward, two traumatic experiences they say they're still recovering from. For that reason, the tape reads like a meditation on self-therapy: On previous Song of the Week pick "Impossible," Haze confesses to wanting to suppress their pain with violence, but eventually discovering the strength to "defeat all my obstacles" in time. That determination to regain control, at...

Going from “And I know that I am always fucking up your world” in the former to “I remind you of my mother.” The Ohio band sounds a lot like a landlocked Best Coast here. Ireland Baldwin and Angel Haze are no longer an item. The model, 19, and the rapper, 23, quietly split shortly before Baldwin checked into rehab for "emotional trauma," a source confirms to Us Weekly. However, one isn't necessarily the cause of the other. "This was not the reason Ireland entered a multi-treatment facility," the source tells Us of the breakup. "She entered due to a variety of pressures in her life. Ireland is being pro-active, doing really well, and being positive about life." Baldwin — the daughter of [...]...

Every week, members of the Vulture staff will highlight their favorite new songs. They might be loud, quiet, long, short, dance-y, rawkin', hip, square, rap, punk, jazz, some sort of jazz-punk-rap fusion — whatever works for the given person in that given week. Read our picks below and please tell us yours in the comments. (Also, read our music critic Lindsay Zoladz's review of Drake's If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.)Action Bronson, “Terry” Before I get into this song, can we please take a moment to appreciate the cover art for Bronson's debut album? Look at it! Genius — much like his new song, which marries a soulful Alchemist-produced beat with Bam Bam's meditative lyrics about his life (which, right now, apparently consists of these four things: "smoke good, fuck, eat, drink"). You'll want to play this one all the way through just to reach that heavenly closing instrumental.

Just a few short weeks after releasing the hit song "Jealous," the former Jonas Brothers member has revealed another hot new track from his upcoming self-titled album. People might love a good overnight success story, but in truth, Mary Lambert's isn't one. The 25-year-old was well known in the spoken-word poetry scene - even performing on an HBO special as a teen - and had been independently releasing her own music before fellow Seattleites Macklemore and Ryan Lewis asked her to pen the hook to what would become their radio hit "Same Love." Of course, the mainstream ode to marginalized romance propelled her to a new kind of fame, the kind that culminates in a surreal mass wedding presided over by Queen Latifah and Madonna at the VMAs. Now, with her first full-length studio album, Heart on My Sleeve, on the verge of release, Mary is in a position to spread her gospel of self-acceptance to an even wider audience. She has always mined her own experiences, both painful and redemptive, in her bluntly confessional - but ultimately hopeful - music.

They’re all about flaunting their relationship, though when Ireland Baldwin's girlfriend Angel Haze made some inflammatory comments in an interview, many folks got a bad impression.
In her chat with The Independent, Haze stated, “An interracial gay couple, I mean that’s just weird for America right now. We f*ck and friends don’t f*ck. I have never f*cked one of my friends. Once I see you in that way, it doesn’t happen. I don’t know if there’s like some confirm or deny thing with the way relationships work in the media, but everyone just calls us best friends, best friends for life, like we’re just friends hanging out. It’s funny. It’s rad in some ways, it sucks in others.”
Following backlash, Baldwin jumped onto her Twitter account to post a series of statements in support of her rapper lover.

Ansel Elgort would be happy to walk the streets in his underwear, Angel Haze and Ireland Baldwin are not best friends, where are the Lgbt cartoon characters?
We’ve now reached the point that tabloid outlets like RadarOnline are making up stuff about gay power couples just like they do straight couples. Their latest is that David Burtka is only allowing Neil Patrick Harris to do Hedwig for six months to keep the men from flirting with him. “At least in L.A. David is always around to make sure it never goes any further. And not to say certain guys haven’t become ‘friendly’ with David in New York too, but without each other around, it’s hard to resist other guys hitting on them.”

After showing Pda on multiple outings, bisexual rapper Angel Haze finally discussed her relationship with Ireland Baldwin last week.
While chatting with The Independent, the 22-year-old Detroit native revealed that she is, indeed, dating Alec’s daughter.
“I don’t know if there’s like some confirm or deny thing with the way relationships work in the media, but everyone just calls us best friends, best friends for life, like we’re just friends hanging out,” Angel told the publication. “It’s funny. It’s rad in some ways, it sucks in others.”
Ireland and Angel met during New York Fashion Week through Baldwin’s cousin.
“There are still certain limitations for women,” Haze continued. “If we were two guys, it’d be insane, negatively insane with the attention. With us it’s all being very positive, the media are like, ‘Oh they’re so cute, they’re best friends.

But with Iggy at the top of the charts, Banks might be feeling a bit more of the sting, because she's lashing out at T.I. and his wife, Tiny. On April 20, the new BFFs showed off their matching tattoos of superhero masks with "We can be heroes" written overhead.
