Robert S. Bates

Dr. Robert S. Bates is an American actor and comedic performer. Robert is 6'4" tall and weighs 262 lbs. He is best known for his contentious scene and subsequent bar fight with Chadwick Boseman (AKA The Black Panther) in the 2017 movie Marshall. Robert is also known for his work on Paramount's 2023 "Mayor of Kingstown" season 2 series, the SyFy Channel, the Showtime miniseries Escape at Dannemora, ABC's Emmy Award winning drama series General Hospital and the NFL draft release of New Era football caps. Rob studies stand up comedy and comedic writing at the infamous Second City Comedy Club. He is also trained in stunts, fighting and weapons combat for film and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio artists (SAG-AFTRA). In addition to acting, Rob is a dental practice management executive.
