Can the subaltern speak? I believe that when depicted by women, the body is a powerful weapon against the privileged narrative of history, social constructs of race and gender. I use the human mind as a battleground to eradicate and disrupt the very structure of our memories and the social organization and construction of the self that is often filtered through ideological belief systems that encourage us to wear a costume and assume an identity which is not our own.
